If you walk into a sports book in Cincinnati and put down 10k on a random mid season college baseball game I imagine it would draw some scrutiny. Hell it would probably raise eyebrows in Vegas.

I know that for niche sports (because I used to follow Arena Football betting threads), there are usually low limits

A couple more thoughts:
This isn’t college football. The $ wagered on college baseball is minimal, at best. AND this had to be a very large wager bc LSU was heavy favored….you had to know eyebrows would rise… I mean, all these facts combined makes me wonder wtf people are thinking (or not)…

Yeah FanDuel (big book) had exactly 0 dollars bet on the game. Definitely raised flags

FanDuel said they didn’t have a single bet on the game. That’s pretty crazy to me.

He gambled on HIS team to LOSE.

whoa. That’s huge. Huge No-no.

Didn’t Pete Rose get banned from the game, but he only ever bet on his team to win? That’s one thing and at least in the competitive spirit. To bet on urself to lose is corrupt and fricked up. Weak

Yep and the fact US Integrity us the one who popped him first and not the Feds tells me the Mob was already own to his A**. They are an independent firm out of Las Vegas. I wouldn’t want to be him is all I can say. You can’t play with the Mob’s money. Ask Tim Donaghy how that worked out for him in prison after being an NBA ref that fixed games. I also watched his documentary.

They do have companies that monitor suspicious activity, trends etc. it was reported that a firm called US Integrity are the ones that busted him, and alerted Ohio gaming commissions. They are out of Kas Vegas which means I’m sure their # 1 client is the Mob. Lol Not good at all for him.

Gambling may be the worst vice. He must have been desperate. The risk he took defies all odds. Only a desperate gambler does this. This is going to be one ugly story and why gambling has the potential to ruin college sports. It’s just too easy.

I wonder if he had a marker with some people and got desperate. Seems like an awful risk to take for a random first game of a series. Either that, or he did it so frequently without investigation he got cavalier and got busted.

What the hell is a surveillance video possible? Is everyone being watched/monitored?
