you dont think he could;ve been waiting for the right job to open up?

i think $2M is a LITTLE bit high, but Pelini is an elite defensive coord who is uber experienced.

he's at least a $1.5M + value

Glad to see the Rant hasn't changed its colors. It's those same people that said we hired a shrimp boat captain that are going to eat their words again with Pelini. They never learn.

Aranda for what I believe will be just as good results, if not better in some cases.

Bull fricking shite... man our fans are dumb. Aranda was one of the best in the business. Especially against stopping spread offenses.. you think a guy who was good back in 2007 means ANYTHING now... Hell no. you just think he's gonna come in and be better than Aranda My god.

So happy to have Bo back. I know some of you guys are worried about his adaptability of modern offenses but one that negates of all of that is pressure. Bo’s defense always brought that. If the QB can’t get the ball out that modern offense will go to shite. After watching the 49ers this wreak havoc on teams with 4 down lineman I’m happy to have the 4-3 back. That’s what LSU defense is built on. Let’s go recruiting!!!!

uhhh probably the players that had a player friendly coach that could explain the game to them perfectly while not always being on their arse. I'm sure the players are so excited to go from that to a hot head who's going to be cussing them out at any mistake. I'm not saying it's a bad hire. But he's definitely not on Aranda's level.. and having a hot head on the sideline is by no means a good thing. maybe back in the 80s. that doesnt motivate today's kids im sorry to tell you

This is becoming a trend with Woodward

True, but really- who gives a shite? He has an insane amount of money to throw around and it’s not like saving $500,000 per year when the athletic department brings in $160,000,000 each year is significant. I’d rather him throw around slightly too much than to frick us over by trying to save pennies like Alleva did

He was the best Nebraska had in a long time. His Youngstown team was in the NC game a few years ago.

You aren't qualified to judge a DC at this level. You just aren't. Neither am I. The people who ARE qualified to do this have done so and chosen Bo.

Your childish "he can't be good because I don't know anything about him past 2007" is ridiculous.

Pelini is definitely more accessible than aranda is, that is a good thing sometimes. I am looking forward to having a dominant defensive line once again. That is one thing bo does always have, a lot of beasts on the dl. We need some ndomikong sues and Tyson Jackson's and Glenn dorseys. They are coming boys! Geaux tigers!

Objectively, he's been out of the loop for a while. The last 5 years in FCS. 13 years since he roamed an SEC sideline.

Would other solid programs make such a hire? Probably not.

yet the Carolina Panthers just hired a guy that had never been an OC...ever. And we melted about that too.

Much like E, it's another hire that would only happen under O.

This is just insane, literally insane. Bo was a great DC, is a great DC, did a great job at Nebraska...you are a complete drama princess.

Is that what he did here previously as DC? You got some reports of that from former players who got upset by it?

Man, some of our fans just can't ever be content with anything LSU football does. It's really sad. If coach O likes pelini and thinks he's the man for the job, then that should be good enough for our fans to accept him and move on and support him here. We have alot of pussies in our fanbase. It's pathetic. Geaux coach O, geaux pelini and geaux TIGERS!!
