So if the bandwagon fans leave, the ones who can afford the expensive seats, who takes their spot?
Not sure, haven't given it that much thought just to be honest. However, I know that each of us witnessed the "process" that began after 2003. Slowly but surely, the little pockets of north Louisiana, the NLU and Tech supporters became LSU "fans". After 2007 it was just the "cool" thing to do. I mean hell, even Snoop Dog had an LSU jersey. As I traveled around the country for work, I began seeing LSU jackets and caps in places I'd never seen them before.
Point is, when the success slows, the band wagons leave. Make no mistake about it, thousands and thousands of those seats have been occupied by folks who didn't call themselves Tiger fans during the 90's. I have friends who never rooted for LSU when we were in HS, that after 2007 made every home game.
Now, they stay home or go just for the tailgating.

Saban chided his fan base for leaving early, so not so sure it has anything to do with team performance so much as it does with contemporary culture.
Way back when, we stayed till the end of he game, including against Utah one year when the temperature was below freezing.
Not many did, but it was weather related for that game.
For the most part, most stayed until the end of the game, though some did leave in the third quarter for some games, depending on the team and depending on the score.

They why would you click on the thread, post a couple times, and stick around for something you claim he was "Jestering" about?????

Miles completely sucked the life out of the fans because they came to expect and accept sub-par, boring football.
They left early before Miles and they will leave early for the next coach as well.

I concur with your assessment.

Main reason is TV. Promise the fans a gold toilet at tiger stadium, a limo ride home from the stadium to their house in 30 minutes, free beer and fifty points a game and it will make some difference in attendance. But take a few games off of TV and see what happens. I recognize that won't happen, but it is the main culprit.

You know what really sucks, driving home on Sunday night after a Saints game
That depends on the outcome of the game. If you're stuck in traffic leaving the Superdome you're doing it wrong.

Good post but as much as it was time for Miles to go there were plenty of great memories and incrediables games while he coached. Pre 2013 (prior to the last JJ insert) was much more enjoyable and consistent.
I do think post 2012 has been stressful to watch a lot of times.

We've won a lot of games under miles but I do somewhat agree with this op. As a competitor I always was like a win is a win. But the boring arse offense got old and the sloppy play did as well.

Les isn't there anymore, so people can't fall back on this excuse anymore. Barring emergency, no one should leave at halftime of a tied game, ever, let alone half the stadium.
Half my section rolled out "to beat the contraflow". That is the number one issue in my opinion, but also the most difficult to actually fix.
Also, concessions, bathrooms, and concourses are supposed to be upgraded during the offseason.

I know a lot of people, especially with kids, who leave at half. By half of a night game, it's usually 8:30-9 and the kids have been ready to go since the end of the first quarter. By the time they make it to the car, drive in the terrible traffic home, eat, and get kids ready for bed, it's close to midnight. I can't blame parents for doing that.

Could care less about "Parents" with kiddie problems. Leave em at home with a baby sitter or with friends and keep your Candy A in the Stadium or better yet, just stay home and give the tickets to friends who will stay and not embarrass the University................

Glad you care at least a little.
You're so awful.
God forbid a family takes their kids to a game, right?

This board wanted Miles gone so bad...now they can't seem to shut the frick up about him
Interesting

Or you can simply blame people for their own actions rather than looking for "someone else" to blame?
