Also, the suit currently filed is not a medical malpractice suit. They have filed a medical review panel proceeding against the doctor and probably the hospital. That's required before that type of suit can be filed in civil court.
I'd really like to read what was filed, but it's not available.

Insurance will settle, it will be up to the parents how far they want to push the settlement.
You can tell by his dad’s comments during the interview that he’s been coached by his lawyer to get this out there so LSU will have no choice but to settle to avoid the negative PR in a case that they are very likely not culpable. I hate it for Greg Jr, but this unfortunately happens sometimes during surgeries like this. No one is at fault and doctors are protected by malpractice insurance in cases like this. The media is foaming at the mouth to take shots at BK any chance they get.

It was in the lawsuit if you read it. Most people aren't even reading the lawsuit, but making judgments.

When he specified Greg Jr, you knew he’s thinking that the dad is a POS. How many families has this occurred to that didn’t have their medical bills covered and a GoFundMe established that was propped up by an entity that makes millions.

shite happens - LSU seemed to do what they were supposed to do. Then you sue and contact has to cease. Idk what else Kelly was suppose to do.

He is lucky to be alive. There is a good chance (approx 40%) this will come back in the next 5 years and a slim chan d that if it does, depending on where it was, it will kill him. Knowing Dr’s and how well things are documented with the parents in signing off on the risks and the aggressiveness of the surgery, was to prevent it coming back - which I would do the same thing to save my child.

“The family of LSU’s Greg Brooks Jr. said in a statement Wednesday the graduate student safety missed Saturday’s game with Mississippi State after being diagnosed with a large brain tumor that required emergency surgery a day earlier to remove the mass.”
“The family’s statement went on to say doctors were successful in the removal of the mass and they were awaiting the results of a biopsy.
“We are grateful for the work and care of the medical staff helping Greg through these challenges and for the concern and love poured out by so many in the Louisiana, Arkansas and national sports communities,” the family wrote. “This means the world to us at this difficult time.
“Greg continues to fight, and we want further clarity on the extent of that battle,” the statement continued. “His incredible strength of character gives us confidence, but we also know that he needs our support more than ever. Please keep Greg in your prayers. #Prayfor3.
During Wednesday’s SEC coaches teleconference LSU coach Brian Kelly said Brooks, who complained of vertigo in August, incurred a dizzy spell last Wednesday that led to an MRI which detected the tumor.
“We were trying to find out what the symptoms were, and he had another episode,” Kelly said. “He had dizziness again on Wednesday of last week. Finally, we said that enough’s enough, and we got an MRI and that’s when the tumor was located. The vertigo was just a symptom of what was obviously a larger issue.”
Kelly was unable to pinpoint a return for Brooks this season.
“It’s so hard for me to even know,” he said. “There’s so many unanswered questions. I don’t even know that I could even begin to give you the medical pieces relative to the surgery to even give you an educated answer to that. I saw him in the hospital on Sunday. He’s still coming out of heavy sedation, so we weren’t able to have a lucid conversation, but I know before he went in, he was pretty clear about playing again this year. But that’s Greg Brooks.””

he is going to do as much bad PR for LSU as possible to push for a settlement.
Then LSU should be able to defend itself (and CBK) from the inaccuracy of story and obvious slander.

LSU's insurance policy covers his medical expenses.
Why? This is an illness not a football injury. LSU may have covered up until the actual diagnosis that ruled out a football injury. Then private health insurance or Medicaid assumes the rest.

What is interesting, however, is there are other allegations outside the scope of his actual injury for which he is suing LSU. He is suing them on NIL grounds, HIPAA violations, giving the doctor a "hero" award without asking him about it, and disseminating false and misleading information about him
All of which so they can pump up the tears for a jury - doesn't matter how much bullshite!

Sad thing is that through the Greg Brooks Fund he will still get $$. He didn’t really have to LIE and trash LSU. Just a sad SAD situation all around.

Sorry to hear that about your son. I'm praying that your son recovers.

his Dad wanted maximum damage for LSU.
I don't think he has a strong case for a payout. The lawyers are telling that man to go after everyone. He's trying to get a check from LSU and the hospital.
