so we play one guy man the others zone.

Height of stupidity.

Zone, when played correctly is very difficult to attack and allows for more picks.

When played correctly. Around 2/3 of NFL calls are zone. There is a reason our guys should run it

Perkins on the edge causing chaos, and Harris locked up in man to allow Safety to lay the hammer down on other receivers.

These are nowhere close to the same situations.

One is moving Harris to an entirely different position the other is just asking a guy to be able to play the entire playbook.

Would you ask a WR to only be out there for when they run one particular route? By halftime the other team will have you figured out.

Funny how as soon as our other CBs looked like arse, Harris became “a very coachable player doing the right things lol
yeah. Talk about a pivot. Seeing Chestnut get the ball taken off his head sure helped Harris

Matt moscano has been saying this for months as the reason why Harris hasn’t been starting. He simply struggled in zone initially

LSU is currently DEAD LAST in the SEC in Defense. Not exactly a high water mark. Matt House's seat should be on fire right about now. if you are a coordinator, and your side of the ball is as inept as we've been on defense, you shouldn't stick around long.

from 2004-18 - LSU avg being 3rd in the SEC in defense
since 2018 - LSU avg being 10th in the SEC in defense

our current defensive productivity is unacceptable. the only worse year has been 2020, when we finished 13th in the league. being 14th of 14 SEC teams in defense isn't going to cut it here. we are only 2 games in, but this is not getting it done.

where were we in D stats after week 2 win over the Horns in 2019? Not good I would guess.

i don't have a way to see what the conference as a total was 2 games in 2019, but surely you aren't comparing 2023 LSU to 2019 LSU?

after 2 games in 2019... the D was giving up 24 pts and 314 YPG. we held GA St to 98 yards. we finished 2019, 9th in the SEC in total defense, which would be worse than what we did last season. it's unknown where we would end up, but last place after 2 games is not where anyone would have wanted us to be.

You sound like a repeat of every single “talking point” from BR sports radio idiots. The amount of fans that haven’t a clue about the Perkins situation is staggering. Trying to improve (or develop) a Freshman LB so that he can be a weapon for you on every down rather than just passing situations is what Coaches do & its a process that takes some time.

CBK said repeatedly that he thought they were a year away, depth & experience wise from “Competing for Championships” & it seems, contrary to what all the tRANT HCs think, CBK may actually have known what he was talking about?

As a CB at this level, you have to be able to play both.

There is no such thing as a "man CB" into a "zone CB". There are only CB that can cover based on the needed defense and those that are limited in the ability to adjust.

That sounds like great news but I'll admit I'm not yet completely zeroed in on deciphering BK's particular style of coach-speak.

He’s not a man to man corner. He’s a young developing corner that is talented enough to play man to man coverage and is learning. Come on man. He’s not a 10 year nfl vet.

"Changing your entire defensive scheme that has worked at every stop you've ever been because of one man corner is the height of stupidity"

Never worked in the games that count.

I would counter and say that the actual height of stupidity is that you think you know more about coaching football than our current staff or even the previous 4 staffs. I won't insult anyone by saying that Curley Hallman knows more about football than they do though

That's why we have officially become a House Kentucky defense. How has that worked out for us last 6 games?
