The Path LSU vs La Tech
Go to 4:44 of this video. BK was fired up. Glad he understands the pressure he is under.

BK legit looked like he was going to have a stroke on the sideline.
I like it.

That's what I was going to say. We've seen this show before.

BK gets pissed. I for one like it.
It would be easy for someone in his position with his guaranteed contract to be calm and relatively emotionless, but he definitely doesn’t do that. He wants his team performing at a high level and won’t accept anything less this year, and he isn’t afraid to express that.
Whether he gets it or not remains to be seen, but there’s no doubt there’s a “hunger” in BK to get a championship.

To the point, but measured. I like it.

What "pressure"? Fans on a message board being angry?
BK isn't getting fired regardless of what happens the rest of the season. His significant buyout and the current realities of college sports ensure that. No longer is the HC and staff the only big expense to consider. The expense for the players is large and growing every day with no end in sight. LSU (and most schools) simply don't have the money to pay a $60M buyout for just the HC, a few more million to buyout the staff, committ significantly more millions to a new HC and staff (because LSU fans are going to demand only the best replacement....which will cost a lot of money) then pay $18M-$20M for a roster. As fans you can be as angry as you want, but there is no external pressure on Kelly.
If there's pressure, it's internal. BK is in his 60's. He wants to win a championship and the time to do so is running out. Two years ago he had the best QB (maybe best player) and best offense he's ever coached and may ever coach. A championship caliber offense that was let down by an awful defense. This year the pieces for a championship run are back in place...and LSU spent a ton of money to put them there. Most notably, LSU had a 5th year returning starter at QB who is viewed as a potential 1st round pick. There is no guarantee that happens again, so internally he's probably thinking "this is my last best shot at a championship"
BK knows this may be a now or never season for him in terms of winning a championship. He's already watched an inadequate unit derail a championship run. He's confident the defense is championship quaility. He knows the offense has enoug players to be championship quality as well...so he's knows he can't let a shitty coaching performance cost LSU again. Right now he's seeing early signs of the offense not playing up to their potential.

Better than Deboer sitting there like he is staring into the sun. BK shows he cares.

Took accountability from the coaching aspect. Probably means a lot to the players, and they’ll work harder.

I didn't find that LSU's poor play on offense had anything to do with effort. Coaching and execution are lacking.

Not really, I got yelled at an F bombed with the coach yanking my jersey collar at the same time when I was eight years old. That’s pretty hallmark movie yelling right there.

i mean that’s great and all, but will the players respond?

that is a cut and paste post game coaches speech from every single sloppy win by a football team in history

How many times can we hear "we need to coach better"?
Posted on 9/10/25 at 2:22 pm to MorbidTheClown
I agree. With all the money going into coaches salaries, “we need to coach better” is not a viable excuse for me.
