I’ll give coach O some credit. He’s had this team motivated and playing hard all year. But I think the biggest difference between this year and years passed is Joe Burrow. For the first time since mett we don’t have a question mark at QB going into the season. It was easy to choose the nfl over coming back to play for a team led by Anthony Jennings, Brandon Harris, JJ, DE. No offense to those guys but they weren’t leading us to a championship. There is obviously an optimism around this team I haven’t felt in years. These players are coming back because they want to do something special. And finally we have a QB that can compliment the denfense and get us there

True. And they have seen previous players leave too soon and not make the cut.

THIS! No doubt, the returning players see the potential of the 2019 team.

Not a bad take.

I think it's more than just Joe, though. I think there are a bunch of "Joes" on this team.

We've also got Delpit, Divinity, Fehoko and Lawrence, to name a few. I think they all realize that if they stay, then we are a legit threat to the SEC and the playoffs.

We'll have a ton of senior leadership to go with a really nice infusion of talent in this recruiting class that will have quite a few big contributors. It's easy to see that 2019 could be a really special season.

I would also credit this years Clemson team who had first rounders come back and win a championship.

They saw how much fun those guys were having

Hopefully Burrow has changed the downward trajectory of QB play. Brennan has another year to put on weight and play for 2 years. QB recruiting, evaluation and development are key. Hopefully we can show recruits that LSU can be a destination school for the QB position. Trending positive!

This is one of those instances where you’ve got to give O the credit. Miles caught shite for years about guys leaving before they should and it appears O may have turned those tables.

I think our former coach was recruiting highly ranked players with the lure of a quick exit to the pros.

For once we have a plan in place for most or all of the positions with regard to succession rather than hoping an incoming freshman will fill a hole. I expect Stingley to crack the lineup as a starter but he is an exception to that statement. There are people ahead of him that he will have to beat out for his starting spot.

As much shite as I give Orgeron for not fixing the offensive problems and not fulfilling his promise to go out and get the best offensive coordinator available, I give him a ton of credit for changing the culture and doing his thing in recruiting.

Hopefully at some point he goes out and gets a young and innovative offensive coordinator to change the offensive culture to match the defensive culture. If he does that LSU absolutely makes the CFP.

Why do people here downvote even when you extend an olive branch and say something complimentary?

Nothing I said was untrue. The offense is objectively bad. Go look at the numbers. It doesn't matter how you feel about it. The facts don't care about your feelings.

It's okay to talk about both the good and the bad. It doesn't make you a bad fan. It makes you a realist.

Just proves the players believe in what coach O has put together even if many posters still don't.

Look, I'll agree, but Danny deserves more credit than he gets. He was limited on the long throws, but he was tougher than all frick.

Burrow is going to work because of the Tebow model.

He isn't really a qb. He's a small white linebacker.

Downvote away, but that's a good thing. LSU needs a hardnosed QB and a few oversized TEs that can punish the defense. You do that, and you can truly take advantage of your fast and talented receivers. And it takes pressure off of your backs
