Perrilloux wasn’t lost, he did it to himself. Hard to call it a missed opportunity for the program when the player was just a jackass that couldn’t get it together off the field.

Agreed, if anything we enabled him to the point that he thought he was bullet-proof until finally he made it impossible to retain him.

Biggest Missed Opportunities in LSU Sports History by AlwysATgr

Not recruiting Elvin Hayes and Don Chaney to play along side Pete Maravich. Would have competed well against Wooden's UCLA teams I think.

there was a game against georgia in the 80s... we were up by 1 with 1 second left. all we had to do was inbound the ball and we win. i forget who it was... but he could have done anything and we would have won except what he did. could have thrown the ball straight up in the air, thrown it off somebody. instead, he threw threw the ball the length of the court and hit no one. took no time off the clock. georgia inbounded under their own goal, hit a lay up, won the game.

2012- Miles runs wildcat against Bama in 4Q with Spencer Ware and it gets stuffed, we settle for FG.
2013- JC Copeland fumbles on the goalline st Bama and totally changes the momentum of the game.
2014- Vadal Alexander gets a 15 yd penalty inside Bamas 7 yd line late in 4Q.
2016- 3 blantant holding calls on Bama on Hurts TD run.
2017- Etling misses several wide open WR against Bama

We could've gone down as the best team in history.

The best team in history has to be able to cross midfield before the game is over vs Bama. The 2011 team could not.

The best team in history has to be able to pick up it’s very first down in the SEC championship game before halfway in third quarter vs a 4 loss Georgia team. The 2011 team could not.

Don’t kid yourself about LSU’s 2011 team being the best team ever. 21-0.

wrong, wrong, wrong..as bad as it was, we DID cross it and had 3 plays on bama side, ended up losing yards..again ti was bad..but get the facts right, 99% seem to forget this....

Moral victories...... wow we ran 3 whole plays on the others teams 50 yard line in the most important game the team will play in ....... the coaching was horrible that night as well as the QB play...

LSU got down to the @ Bama30 but OL penalty and a sack ruined it.

They smoked UGA 42-10 and your dumb shite makes no sense.
ST and D combined for 14 of the 42 and offense scored 28.

I would replace the ole miss loss with a win, but make the Georgia game a loss.

You are correct. Not an opportunity.

Losing Perrilloux has turned out to be extremely detrimental to this program that over 10 years later, we still haven't recovered.

I remember, I MAY BE WRONG HERE WITH THE NAME, but I want to say John Williams (whomever) inbounded it UNDER the GA basket, they got the ball and scored ... could have thrown it deep and won the game

THAT was the problem.Georgia missed two or three tips and knocked it out of bounds with :01. John Williams did throw the ball in. But he was confused thinking once he threw it time would expire. He threw it past midcourt and it went out of bounds with no one touching it. Turnover.

Georgia lobbed it up to Cedric Henderson who shot at the buzzer and Georgia stole one, 59-58.
