Silver lining: he probably comes back for sr year, his film is bad and I think he’ll need it.

That and new coaching will help in 24.

I won’t dump on a guy the season after a bad injury, but Kelly is gonna need some D-linemen really bad next season. And with our current DC being obliterated on social media and deservedly so, I wonder how all that plays out to D recruits.

Every coach I know in District 7-5a told me he was super overrated. That includes a few from Terrebonne. A coach from another 7-5A school told me Smith's senior year teams were double teaming a freshman on the Terrebonne d-line because if the play wasn't going directly at Smith he was a non-factor.

I get the frustration over Smith. But let’s be fair, he played as a true freshman and flashed, he blew out his knee and missed a year, and now he’s receiving no coaching whatsoever except for some short Jenkins tutorials. That’s not exactly development?

I hate when people say shite like this. We have lost far less talented players to early draft entry.

Said that a couple weeks ago and it triggered some people. Looks like they will finally have to admit it. I wish he would step up his play.

Kelly has to get a DLine coach ASAP. If Lindsay isn’t ready to go move on and hire someone else. Cannot afford to let it go unfilled.

He’s slow AND low effort. Just an awful combo.

Most of you have never had a torn ACL. Everyone has a different return from an injury like that. Sometimes can take over a year. I think if he returns next year you will see a different player with an extra year to strengthen his leg and above all get the confidence to push on it.

Are you that knowledgeable or just repeating what 100 other posters have said. After a while it gets old reading the same old shite about the scapegoat of the week. Fact is you don't know what Smith's responsibilities are and how effective he was. You just think because he does not have 8 tackles and 2 sacks he played badly. He may have often occupied two blockers and someone else took the wrong lane. Milroe made most of his yardage escaping around the edges.

I look forward to your "original " posts about how bad House is, or the deficiencies of the secondary, maybe even a complaint about the Tiger Stadium game atmosphere. How about throw in your thoughts on tearing down the PMAC and rebuilding?

On that 1 tackle he made sure they knew he got the tackle by standing over them and talking shite

It is a marvel how the guys on this defense continue to do this. They get their asses kicked all game and someone makes a tackle eight yards downfield and immediately jumps up and starts flexing. It's comical.

Everyone does this. Sportsmanship died a long time ago. It is all about "me" nowadays.

His biggest game was the game after Pete Jenkins came back. He hasn’t had that type of game since, but Wingo has been hurt so he gets more of the focus.

But, I think that shows that what he’s really lacking is good coaching. Losing Lindsey seems to have hurt him the most. He even stated that having Pete as a coach was great for him because he focuses and has helped him on technique.

He’s had 3 different DL coaches in 3 years, which may also explain some of the issues with the rest of the DL’s play.
