Its not an illusion. He is innocent until proven guilty. Show me someone who is credible that has seen evidence of wrong doing.

Pardon my ignorance, but is it just Wade’s testimony?
Or are we talking several different people?

Several coaches.

I get what you're saying and I fully understand that the NCAA has to carry SOME kind of burden of proof. All I'm saying is that if we're being honest, he almost certainly has either directly or indirectly participated in some kind of impermissible benefits.

With an LSU coach not charged in this trial, why was Will Wade subpoenaed?

Defense attorneys want to argue to the jury that the defendants also had relationships with head coaches and didn't attempt to bribe them. By eliciting testimony from the subpoenaed coaches or introducing evidence that shows they broke NCAA rules by paying players, as the government motion suggested, defense attorneys would argue the head coaches have the most influence over their players, and Code and Dawkins didn't bribe them.

I don't see much of a difference either way. Testify or not, Wade is not on trial here. It's still even more likely that the case is settled.

I agree with you Irish LSU fan. WW may have been reinstated, but that's doesn't mean he's clear of the NCAA. Also, who knows what is going to come out of this trial when they get up on the stand! This is far from over!

I think you and Irish are sharing a brain...and its out of the office on spring break.

The parties usually have a very good idea of what is coming out at trial. Through grand jury testimony, witnesses interviews, etc., the likelihood of "surprises" relating to a coach and a school that are not part of the crimes alleged against the defendants is unlikely.

If he doesn't testify and these "tapes" aren't admitted into evidence then they won't be made public and the NCAA has absolutely nothing on him,

Exactly!!! And this is the part many fans have trouble understanding. The only thing the NCAA or LSU could use against Wade is what is put into open court. Unless the FBI releases information regarding their investigation to the NCAA, which I doubt they do. None of this leaked crap can be used against Wade in a court of law or legal proceedings. I feel confident the judge will rule for the federal government since Wade testimony has little bearing on the actual case.

The rant said Wade was talking about scholarship and playing time.

I remember 1 or 2 people saying that half-jokingly.

I was one of those who said he could make that answer.

Wade had to meet with the LSU admin and provide a response to what he said. He probably will have to sit down with NCAA guys and do the same.

His transcript as released is awkward, but vague. It can be interpreted a few different ways. With zero evidence of anything else, if that's what he says he meant, you go with it, and he (and everyone else) moves along.

I don't think the NCAA will hammer LSU if he sticks to that, and you can't find anything else. They might watch closely from now on, but I'm sure they would anyway, since we've made a big jump and KY is pissed.

Nothing on Wade yet but it is being reported the judge has ruled the Sean Miller recordings and testimony "irrelevant" so that's probably a good sign.

Hope the judge is a Tiger fan!
I realize this was a lighthearted comment, but no, I hope the judge rules impartially, without regard to any personal feelings or biases.

The integrity of the justice system is more important than a basketball team.

Great news. Wade and LSU can put this in the rear view mirror and get ready for a long run of basketball dominance!
