Since the BCS started, five non-BCS teams have gone undefeated and none of those teams have gotten a chance. That's 100%.

Yes, 100% failed to schedule a worthy enough sched.

So why don't we just play the college football season and at the end, we'll ask you who the national champion should be?

I'd say the two most deserving teams based off of their entire season should go. So, I'd take the top two teams in the BCS and let them play.

And? They still had the same chance. They didn't make it. Boo freaking hoo.

OK, I got a better idea. Why doesn't each team hire coaches to assist the coaches of the teams they are playing against, so those teams will play better and then the schedule will strengthen?

How about not schedule D2 teams every game OOC.

Logic: rewarding teams for being the best team in a collection of pissants.

Tell me again what is wrong with LSU moving to the Sunbelt under your plan? There is no punishment for playing frickups all year and you still get the same chance to compete for the national championship as teams that play in real conferences.....who are presumably are doing so with no reward whatsoever.

It wouldn't happen, fans rioting, loss of revenue, etc.

Not really.

2007 Hawaii played Northern Colorado (FCS) and Charleston Southern (FCS).

Then the one FBS team they played out of conference in the regular season was Washington, who was 4-9 overall, and 2-7 in a bit above average Pac 10. They got down 21-0 and won by 7 points in a 4th quarter comeback. It was the biggest game in school history too.

They didn't even deserve to go to any kind of BCS bowl that year.

However, maybe scheduling actual DI teams in their pre-conference schedule would have helped.

What's that got to do with anything you write. Your playoff plan would never be accepted or happen.

And they would get beat in the first round of my playoff, likely. What's your point?

Loss of revenue? Nah, fans would still pay to come, especially since we'll be in the playoffs every year. We could still schedule one or two decent OOC games to keep people interested until the playoffs start.

On 2nd thought, moving to the Sunbelt is just a stupid idea. Almost as stupid as giving the champion of one of these busch league conferences a free pass to playoffs.

No one here is realistically talking about an 8-team playoff, because it would never happen. We're talking about a 4-team playoff. That is what I originally posted.

And they didn't even deserve to be in an 8 team playoff that year.

What was the MWC's record against BCS schools last year?

What was their record against BCS teams who won their conference? That is the real question. Because that is who they would be playing in this "playoff system."

OK, and I and others in this thread thought it was a horrible idea. That's why you posted it, right? To get the opinion of others?

0-0 ... the system wouldn't allow it.
