Always close, but never the prize, with her coaching! Sometimes it's time for a change from the same old same old in order to make improvement and progress... LSU softball has become stale under her leadership.

I really don’t think he pulls the trigger this yr, multiple staff changes maybe but not BT. I think she realigns the staff responsibilities and maybe hires 1 or 2 coaches and if I were her clean house of players. This current roster especially the seniors is the most disappointing class in her history. They have failed to live up to the standard and you can blame it on Torina all you want but she was going to WS before this class walked in the door. Was she a great coach when she had Bell, Landry, Jayquish, Hoover, Walljasper, Andrews sisters and everyone else in the era ? Of course she was, the players have changed they act more entitled, let’s get on tik tok, mental health BS, lack of accountability, it’s never the players fault mentality…get a stronger culture and Beth will be back in the WS.

You do realize LSU has top five facilities and a top five budget, right? How many lsu sports besides football, baseball, and gymnastics can actually say that? And guess what, those sports WIN

357 already explained we always have a strong RPI that never translates to anything. I’m glad we went from the WCWS every few years to the strongest RPI to not make it out of a regional queens.

You seriously think Howard Dobson is still a good coach?
LSU softball fans are a special breed. I’ve been saying for five years that Howard Dobson is a clown, doesn’t take an avid fan to simply look at the statistics and underlying themes and conclude the dude has cost Beth Torina a lot of wins.

No other coach at LSU this century has been allowed to be mediocre for this long. We’ve fired football coaches less than 2 years after national titles. The AD obviously isn’t serious about softball being elite

and that is concerning. it boils down to what level of winning does scott and the admin find acceptable?
she has definitely tailed off from those OKC runs. i said it before and i will say it again. her not winning a natty when she had hoover and walljasper could haunt her forever. she had 3 shots with them and shite the bed each time. part of me thinks scott DNGAF about softball.

I think it’s tricky because she wins enough to raise some eyebrows if you fire her, but so did firing Les miles. And it worked in the end.
She’s clearly made her bed being overly loyal to her shite assistants. No one cares you like to go to Superior with Dobson and leftwich for birthday’s. People care about results and she’s failed the fans.
Also I read she made another boneheaded move to put an inexperienced freshman in a tough situation? Reminds me of feeding alea Johnson to the wolves against ULL to end our season last year.

Dobson hasn’t been the issue, it was Lindsey Leftwich, she has done more to bring down LSU than the others combined. She was the main recruiter, she set the tone culturally with all her holier than thou attitude. She single-handedly destroyed Pleasants with her gimmicks.Dobson was with Team USA he is the best recruiter/ evaluator on campus, he should coach 3rd and let the other dude coach hitting

Yeah maybe but the current roster isn’t his issue, the reliance on Lindsey Leftwich was the current downfall..it may be a fatal error for BT. Idk

Don’t know if I’d go that far but she was hired by a P4 program that doesn’t give a shite about softball, was looking for a warm body, and it’s likely she took a pay cut to go from LSU assistant to NCST head coach.
EDIT: Sorry. My mistake. Leftwich and SC are 7-12 in the SEC so I’ll give her credit for the improvement. But yes, the Billy Graham crusades seemed to be the main thing she brought to the table at LSU.

The SEC isn’t the place for soft coaches because there are coaches that will do whatever it takes to win and yes stretch the rules. Wait til next yr 2 more that will cut your heart out are coming in the league
