It was like a home game for Hogs tonight. Their fans were bringing it. Their players were up in the dugout and intense at the plate. They forced 120ish pitches from Berzon. Meanwhile, our players seem very passive and distracted. There is no awareness of situations at the plate. We pinch hit batters with no experience who swing at a pitch way out of the zone on a 2-0 count and hit a weak dribbler with runners in scoring position to let the pitcher off the hook. It happens over and over rather than learn and adjust the next time. This was advertised as a senior laden team with great experience but she seems to be relying on freshmen in crucial situations. If she doesn’t get out of a regional at home again this year, I just can’t see how Scott ignores that.

The mistake Beth made is she hired a hitting coach from Louisville, he was there for 2 yrs and according to his bio he had multiple AA and they went from 12th to 1st in hitting. What does Beth do she puts him at 1st base to do nothing, I’m not sure why hire that guy to coach first base when you could have hired a defensive expert or allow him to coach the hitters and have 1 of the 2 coach 1st. Better yet allow Dobson to coach 3rd and the other coach at 1st with the new coach in the dugout with the hitters.

I said it was a mistake if you aren’t going to let him coach hitting , in case you didn’t read the entire post he coaches 1st not hitting. Dobson is still the hitting coach

Not me, I was told at the beginning of the season he wasn’t coaching hitting…fyi hitting coaches don’t coach 1st base.

Because of results, who is the last position player at LSU to be AA? At this school there should be at least 1 every yr. When has LSU ever finished 1st in hitting? BTW they don’t teach hitting on Team USA no more than they do on MLB all star games.
