You could tell that Derek was feeling the pressure and almost pressing to keep his streak alive. It had to be a massive weight off of his shoulders to have the streak end so that people would stop talking about it.

It was interesting while it lasted but im glad its over.

Probably not a coincidence that the very next game following his streak ending he goes 4-4

This kid is about destroy the final stretch of the season

Best player on LSU's team. Elite and only a freshman. He definitely won't last as soon as he's draft eligible.

I didn't want it to end, but I also thought about that and figured it may have been weighing on him. At some point yesterday it seemed like a weight lifted off the whole team, and suddenly they were playing loose. It was really nice to see.

Potentially finding a Sunday starter was the highlight for me this weekend.

they made a good point on the telecast; i can see Evans starting on Sunday's if Jay hasn't had to use him in a tight spot to win either Game 1 or 2.

I don't know that I agree. Curiel is hitting .345 in SEC play so I'm not totally sure how much pressure he was feeling. But you might be right

if this is true I think it makes your analysis even less credible because you want it to be true that you have this talent that allows you more sophisticated analysis than the typical fan.

not buying it. curiel was, and continues to be, red hot. there will be hitless days. means nothing.

His swings are pretty effortless and looks to be able to hits just where he wants it.

If you were about language expert then you would have posted this before the streak ended and not try to be a savant afterwards

I said it a lot during the season but I’m never going to pull against one of our Tigers trying to make history.

saying it a lot and being wrong doesn't help your case

Getting on base*

Going 1-4 multiple games and then finally going 0fer and then 4-4 the very next day actually PROVES my case.

Don’t mean to interject into the argument, but he had 3 multi hit games out of the previous 4 games prior to the 0-fer.
