Trey Hodges was money down the stretch in 2000. Wd do not win it all without him.
He won 2 games and saved a third in Omaha.
10-2/3 IP
6 hits
2 ER

Matty Ott was a beast his freshman year, but didn’t lefty’s go 0fer one year against Chris Cotton?

Chris Cotton is my favorite. He was a walk on. CPM was talking about him one night and how he had to buy his own practice pants and equipment. Came out as a walk on and slowly diced up a lot of their best hitters week after week before getting game time. And before his career ended, was one of the best closers in the SEC his last year.

"limited left-handed batters to a .100 average (6-for-60) on the year"
This is a great bio on him

Matty Ott was pretty much unhittable his freshman year.

Recent history bias ?
Louis Coleman in the closer role was as good of a relief pitcher as any LSU has ever trotted out there. dominant.

This pic shows Rick Greene after closing the game of our first National Championship in 1991.

He led the SEC in 1991 with 21 saves and was drafted 16th overall in the first round of the 1992 MLB Draft.
This is a better pick of him: Rick Greene Pic 2

i think to make this list you need more than 6.2 career innings
Most folks might not realize that Chad Jones rarely practiced pitching due to being injured. That 6.2 innings was Mainieri squeezing every bit Jones had in him.

How about 6'7" Anthony Ranaudo?
Third in NCAA strikeouts in our 2009 CWS season.
39th overall pick in the 2010 draft by the Red Sox

Matty Ott his freshman year. He set the LSU single season saves record with like 16 or 17 saves that year.

You're arguing that Ranaudo is one of the best relievers in LSU history?
