Hit a bomb off of Matt Anderson with rice. I want to say it cleared the scoreboard. I was at a bachelor party that night.

I'll cast my vote for Joey (aka Albert) Belle.

The lack of respect for Todd Walker in this thread is astonishing.

Walker is without a doubt one of the best Tigers ever, but I do not consider him a "power" hitter. He was more of a high average hitter who did have a lot of pop in his bat.

Maybe I'm just splitting hairs here. The other guys launched bombs. TW was more of a pure contact hitter.

Not really. I think he was clearly the best hitter in LSU history, though certainly not the best power hitter.

I just remember seeing some ridiculous shots from him while at Airline as well as while at LSU.

Did anyone besides Mouton hit the apartment building behind left field at the old Box?

It got peppered pretty regularly in BP, but a fair amount of people hit it. The one I remember most is when Mark Wright did it three years ago one of the furthest balls I had ever seen hit at the box.

1. Furniss
2. Walker
3. Larson

I will also throw Todd Linden into the mix even though he was only here for one year he did drop some epic bombs.

No Tyler Hanover?

He started our season as clean up.. Great power!

Didn't he hit like 5 HR's so far in two years. Add 5 for every inch he would need to grow to equal the size of everyone else and thats like.... 1.2 million home runs!!!

Just Kidding.. Good Guy.. Eddy is the man in my opinion. If you lead the SEC in Career HR's, you are the man until proven otherwise.

this!

saw Larson hit two jacks at LA Tech that havent landed yet....one went over the flag pole is center field the other didnt get above 30 feet and hit the scoreboard in right (oppo)....Wes put one waaaaay out that night too...that night was like a homerun hitting display they hit like 7...

larson hit one that year in omaha that resembled Pat Burrells freshman year blast halfway up the tower in left...

If we are talking simply LSU:

Larson
Clark
Cresse
Furniss/Mouton

Non LSU:
Pat Burrell
Ryan Braun
Lance Berkman

Albert Belle. Not even close. Keep in mind the bats were different and it did make a difference in stats in the 20 some year time period. Look at what Albert Joey did in the Majors. Barring a hip injury, Joey would have hit 500HR in the bigs. No one played with more intensity than Joey. The better the pitcher the more he hammered their asses. Mid week pitcher who threw about 80mph from Southeastern and Big Joey would probably go 0-4 but in a big situation against some guy who threw 100mph with a 0.02 ERA and more times than not Joey would absolutely crush the ball. Ask guys who really know baseball -- McDonald, Will Clark who was the man on raw power??

I saw Brad Hawpe hit a monster shot to right field in the 2000 SEC Tournament that is probably still in orbit. He may not rank with Larson, Furniss and some of the others mentioned in this thread, but for that one at bat he was awesome.

Not to get off topic, but was anyone at the CWS last year watch LSU's batting practice? I saw Chad launch a few into the last few rows in the outfield. I believe this was after the Arkansas-CSF game. Didn't realize he was hitting over 350, although he only played 14 games in the beginning of the season.
