Helms is a good one. Is there anyone else notable from Arkansas?

Ken Kavanaugh was All American in the late 1930s - out of Little Rock High School. Played a few years in the league (split up by being a pilot in the European Theater), coached some after winning 3 championships with Da Bears.

Is that better than Brett Helms (all due respect, I love the kid)?

Steve Van Buren is the only choice for best player born outside of the USA.

I don't necessarily disagree, but Abe Mickal and Brad Wing were stars in their day as well.

Mickal is in the Louisiana AND Mississippi sports halls of fame and the first LSU player ever drafted into the NFL.

I nominated Helms but I have to defer to Ken Kavanaugh Sr. And he should get bonus points since his son also played for us.

All because of Bama. He had bad games against Bama. You know who else had bad games against Bama?

Nearly everyone.

who could forget all those 300 yard games from Harris, Jennings, and Etling... only to be wasted due to a poor performance by Fournette

Texas needs to go to Charles Alexander. 2-time consensus AA is better than what Jamal Adams did.

If you talk about Louisiana you have to mention Tommy Hodson...was the GOAT until Burreaux came along.

Alan Faneca should be considered as the representative from Louisiana (or Texas - depending on how you’re defining “from each state”).

I fell for this initially, but the OP counts one Joseph Lee Burrow as being from Iowa (his birth state).

Scratch Louisiana from the list and add a supplemental top 10...

I was more impressed with TM7 live than just about any human...but LF almost beat a good ND team by himself...so...
