I'd go with Mawae over Mettenberger for Georgia.

lived up to the hype? I get it, the guy had some outstanding games and plays. it's never "hype" when BAMA was fournettes kryptonite every year

no. just because I was spat out of the box in an iHop parking lot in Tennessee does NOT mean I'm from Tennessee.

Made a bigger impact every game than Fournette

Yeah let’s talk about his impact in those Bama games.

I’ll throw in Jamarr Chase as well.

Bert Jones was the best ever from Louisiana, but Jamarr Chase is second. In 10 years this won’t even be controversial, and everyone will say they always thought Chase was the GOAT non-QB.

He won an SEC championship game as a nickel back.

He was the starting cornerback.

Washington - Ali Gaye (if we’re doing HS “hometown”)

Could also qualify on Arizona and Kansas, where he went to juco.

North Dakota: Jabril Cox

What I said:

1. Highest average yards/season

This is different:

LF7 was the most dominant RB we ever had, but Les thought he was Marvel’s Juggernaut. He’d watch Saban build 9-man walls and confidently send Fournette out to run toss dives into the 2 gap.

That’s not a failure of the tool. That’s a failure of the craftsman
