C McManus (Milazzo when healthy)
1B Berry
2B Dugas
3B Doughty
SS Thompson
LF Morgan
CF Crews
RF Pearson
DH Jobert/ McManus when Milazzo healthy vs righty/lefty

Here comes everyone getting their panties rustled about Morgan being off 1st but I'd bet we get much cleaner throws to 1st with this IF and Berry has never struggled with anything routine. Doughty is best when it's all reaction. He was a good 3B last year

Just an observation of Berry tells me a lot of throws in the dirt will not be picked.

Not like Morgan's but I bet we get cleaner throws to 1st with this IF. JT may still be a problem but it's worth trying if this was 3 months ago. Too late now but who knows maybe he picks up his shite when he don't have Morgan to rely on

Berry has actually improved a ton at 3B. And I would bet you that Berry being at 1B would have zero effect on the play of the rest of the infield except maybe make it worse.

Doughty is the worst 2nd baseman in the conference. He was an above average 3B last year. To say it would have no effect on the IF is not true

I agree, Doughty is better at 3rd. You can still move Doughty to 3rd without having Berry at 1st

Doughty isn’t very good, but why does the original poster believe Dugas would be better? He’s playing OF for a reason.

Dugas has played 2nd before better than Doughty is now. And it gets more bats in the lineup. And Doughty has played 3rd last year better than anyone has on this year's team

Doughty has had struggles at both second and third in the past. He was never a good defensive player, but had seemed to improve a good bit at both positions. Thompson was also a better SS last year than this year. Not perfect, but not nearly as bad.

I don't think there is a magic solution, like moving Doughty to third. Defensive issues are inside this teams head right now. They aren't as bad defensively as they have played And you can't just DH everybody.

Whenever you see college players dropping down to a damn knee to catch a ball it tells you 10000% that they are thinking about not making an error while the ball is coming to them. The easiest plays are the hardest plays for this entire infield to make, because they have time to think about it.

Berry would be so shite at 1B with Dugas and Thompson throwing him bullshite

Edit: excluding Morgan, this is the worst defensive infield I can remember in my lifetime. It makes you appreciate Hal Hughes batting .220.

Edit 2: I miss Chris Reid. That dude will forever be a legend to me.

Smh. There’s a reason no one talks about it. Oh and you would lose that bet.

Not discrediting your lineup.

CJJ made a decision to sacrifice fielding for hitting. Ask yourself, has anybody lost their job due to fielding? I know Doughty and Thompson swapped a few games but no one has.

Earlier season, Jobert's hitting is what kept Berry at 3B. Now that Jobert is slumping and Dugas seems to be getting into form, maybe that opens up some changes?

You can line up mlb hitters. But when the other team is taking batting practice against our pitching it doesn’t matter. LSU wins one more game this year. Hillard throws one more gem. Other than that this season is over. On to next year and hopefully some pitching

Good grief, man. I get being upset and we looked awful in both games today but this is really dramatic.

Le't see what happens instead of just melting about today.

Hell yeah. Some of his family and friends sat behind me and we always cheered him on.

I remember when he hit that in the park homerun and we were joking about how slow he runs

I was joking with my wife and I told her we might be better if we leave Morgan at 1st base and switch the remaining infielders with the outfielders. Except we might see some routine fly balls drop.

We haven’t seen that lineup, but I bet CJJ has - at least those players at those positions.
