In my opinion as far as punting, Donnie Jones could boot the ball a mile it seemed, but place kicker... I don't know that one really stands out.

Without question Corbello. The extra point thing sucked, especially since I lived with the guy. People used to blame me because I used to bring him to Bogies too much.

what year was that??
1986, his freshman year.

how short was the field goal??
30 yards. He had kicked four earlier in the game that were longer, one from about 52, I think. He was kicking (left-footed) from the right hash on the last one, and just pushed it wide left.

Ronnie Lewis was certainly the best at winning friends and influencing people.

Browndyke but David has a chance to surpass him with an excellent year this year

Sorry, got him confused with Juan 'friggin' Roca who kicked for the Tigers back in the 70s.

Betanzos kicked 82-84

Juan "Greasy Toe" Betanzos? That dude was the epitome of inconsistent.
David Browndyke was the best and most reliable PK in LSU history. This is not even debatable.

Corbello for Heisman

I completely agree, but give the original poster a break, Browndyke was playing for LSU before he was born!
