Rice: 20/28 307 yds, 2 TDs

@ #16 Texas A&M: 25/38 270 yds, 3 TDs (100 yds rushing, 3 TDs)

UCF: 21/34 394 yds, 4 TDS, 1 int

Georgia Southern: 23/27 278 yds, 5 TDs

@ #9 Texas: 31/39 471 yds, 4 TDs, 1 int

Rohan had a stretch in 2001 that was very decent, but nothing like the above. Jamarcus came close as well, but the yards, touchdowns and completion percentage varied too much.

120/166 (72%) 1,720 18 TDs, 2 ints (3 rushing TDs)

An average of 24/33 344 yds, 3.5 TDs

There isn’t many LSU qbs that have thrown the ball 30-40 times a game so I doubt you’re gonna find a comparable player.

Hodson and Bert Jones are the only 2 that come to my mind

The fifth game in Rohan’s 2001 stretch you mentioned deserves a giant asterisk considering he was injured in the second quarter and did not play afterward. If you drop that game and use the next full game as the fifth, or drop it to 4 games, 2001 tops it.

I drink the Joe kool-aid just like every other couillon on the Rant.

That being said: I don’t care who the QB is, I don’t care what he does, I don’t care who he beats. I doubt I’ll ever see anything as completely, utterly satisfying as Rohan Davey playing catch with Josh Reed in Tuscaloosa.

I mean, when you look at it, it's hard to argue with that stretch.

And surely it will extend these next couple/few weeks.

Not a chance. We didn't throw the ball enough in those days to allow Bert to have games like that.

Jeff Wickersham had a couple of hot seasons, I seem to recall.

You also need to consider the A&M game had 57 overtimes

Burrow didn't have many passing yards in OT. Less than 70 I believe.

He also sat out 1.5 quarters vs GSU.

So did Alan Risher. Both were fine quarterbacks in their schemes but neither had anything close to the spectacular level of success we're seeing from Burrow

Joe is a great QB and that is a great 5 game stretch. Rohand had several better stretches as far as yards are concerned. Can't think of a better stretch for TDs. The 7 OT game probably does skew the TD numbers a little but these first two games this season were mind boggling.

Rohan's 5 best 5 game stretches. Of note, all the games for the first two were all SEC teams and 4 of the 5 were SEC teams in the other 3. His completion percentages were not as good as Joe's.

In 5 games vs Tennessee, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and Mississippi Rohan had a 60.5% completions, 1859 yards passing, 10 TDs and 5 INT.
In 5 games vs Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Mississippi, and Alabama Rohan had a 65.2% completions, 1821 yards passing, 10 TDs and 5 INT.
In 5 games vs Kentucky, Mississippi State, Mississippi, Alabama, and Middle Tennessee State Rohan had a 66% completions, 2026 yards passing, 13 TDs and 8 INT.
In 5 games vs Mississippi State, Mississippi, Alabama, Middle Tennessee State, and Arkansas Rohan had a 61.7% completions, 1888 yards passing, 12 TDs and 7 INT.
In 5 games vs Mississippi, Alabama, Middle Tennessee State, Arkansas, and Auburn Rohan had a 59.7% completions, 1717 yards passing, 9 TDs and 7 INT.

Joes Passing yardage is less than 4 of those but his completion percentages, passing TD's and TD/Int ratio is much better in that one game.

In 5 games vs Rice, Texas A&M, Central Florida*, Georgia Southern, and Texas Joe had a 72.3% completions, 1720 yards passing, 18 TDs and 2 INT.

Rohan's numbers came against 5 SEC opponents twice and 4 SEC opponents in the other 3. Of course, If Joe keeps it up he will blow the doors off those numbers,
