Where do you have our Freshmen all sec SS?
He will probably start the season at short, but if he doesn't hit in conference play I don't think he will make it through the season there.

The biggest question to me right now is where does Bianco play? He made great strides in the second half of the season and he was money in the postseason.
I think that, while there will be a lot of shuffling to fit all these other guys in the lineup, they will all play somewhere. But Bianco is the one guy who seems like he might be forced out, among our top returning players. He might be one of the best bats on the team, who simply won't have a position. A guy like Jobert is going to be either at first, or be the DH. Merrifield, if he hits, is too valuable defensively not to have at second or maybe 3rd. Either Doughy or Berry will get pushed to the outfield, which means if Dugas returns, the outfield will be locked up, likely meaning that Jobert takes the DH, as we're obviously not going to take Morgan out of the field.
And there's still the possibility of some immediate impact freshmen coming in, and perhaps even another one of those Arizona guys. It's hard to imagine Gio being back, unless he doesn't mind being a depth guy. But he is too solid of a player for me to believe he'd accept that.
But, hey, this is all mindless speculation, until we see how the next couple of months play out. Certainly interesting.

Bianco prolly stays a utility guy that gets plugged in where injuries occur or to give a guy that's struggling some time off. Also a late game sub as a PH.

Doughty to LF if Dugas leaves.

Simon is the only other true SS on the roster. I think Thompson’s spot is pretty safe.

He’s transferring in for his money year. There are no “final two seasons”
I thought he was in the same situation as Crews .I don’t know exactly what you mean.
Wasn’t he a freshman this past season ,who’s already entered the first year players draft ,out of high school?
Or
Was he not in that draft based on age or something.I really don’t know the exact rules, I guess. did he go undrafted out of high school ,and in turn, is eligible to enter again in the 2022 draft? These are just guesses, sense I obviously don’t know the rules to the extent some of y’all do.
I thought I knew how it worked but apparently not. I thought if you entered the first year players draft then you could turn down the team that drags you, then go to college and play till you were a junior or senior and then enter that draft.
Like what Crews will do.
Maybe you could explain this to me and people could refrain from calling me an idiot for now lol cuz I know I’m not the only one confused by this. Baseball is easily the most difficult sport when it comes to all the nuances involved with playing at the next level

Besides the normal high school, juco, and 4 year school rules players are draft eligible if they’re 21 at the time of the draft, or within a certain number of days after the draft. So Berry is a draft eligible sophomore.

What I don’t understand is, why is his situation different than crew’s situation?
Was berry not old enough to enter the draft out of high school?

Berry is old for his class and will reach 21 by the time of the draft following his sophomore season. Crews will not be 21 at the time of next year’s draft so he won’t be eligible until after his third season.
Every high school senior is draft eligible so that isn’t a factor in their situation.

I thought you could only enter once out of high school and then couldn’t enter again until you were a junior at least, but you’re saying you can enter again at the age of 21. Does it not matter if you just entered two years before? Just once out of high school and once at 21 or older?

Ok it’s his age then, thanks for explaining that.

Start by spelling Crews correctly,
A player can be drafted right out of HS. If he elects to go to a four year college then he isn’t eligible for the draft until he has been in college three years or he is 21 by a certain date.

Moving Morgan from 1B is dumb dumb dumb
Seems like his speed would be more valuable in the OF. Plus that’s probably where he play at the next level

bianco is one of my favorite stories from last year. statistically, heading into the end of the year, there was no reason to put him in the game but the kid never gave up. we don't get as far as we did without him.
Posted on 7/5/21 at 10:29 am to STEVED00
Who’s spot do you want him to take? Bianco is solid in center and is fast enough because of how hard he plays.if he wasn’t the type to go all out, I’d say he wasn’t fast enough but that effort makes up for his speed to a certain degree, plus, he is pretty damn fast for his build
