You bench him and you lose the respect of high school and juco baseball coaches all over the country.

Please explain why these HS & Juco Coaches would hate on JJ for sitting a player thats clearly struggling in ALL aspects of the game? We all know JTs playing tomorrow, esp considering JJs already said he will 100% be playing, but if JJ did sit his arse after yesterdays catastrophic collapse of just basic baseball skills - NOBODY would blame JJ nor should they.

Its all down to 1 game & if JJ thinks JT needs to sit then he will sit him & give ZERO fuks about what a wad of fat, middle aged, also rans & never were so-called “Baseball Coaches”.

When we look at what JJ has done the last two years it’s impressive.

Multiple big arms down in our pen, almost no bench depth in the infield and yet we are 1 game away.

I suspect our infield depth issues will be solved soon as JJ reloads quick.

If liability Thompson plays today and is a disaster, it’s going to be a rough day.

If I was Thompson’s backup, I would either transfer or retire from baseball.

A clear signal is being sent that you are not good enough to play baseball at LSU. So listen to it.

Our fans want to replace Thompson with Merrifield who has… checks notes… no hits this year.

We all know Thompson is going to play no matter what, but is there really a difference between 0-10 and 1-31?

By all accounts Jay Johnson is a class act and isn't gutter trash like a few other coaches in the conference. He will leave it up to Skenes, and he's not going to sacrifice a kid's career over one game.

At this point how is that different from Thompson. Dude is a 100% sure out…. If not 2 outs in a double play situation. He’s terrible right now. His head is ruined for the CWS.

We don't have anyone to replace Thompson, if we did Jay would have made the move already. I swear some of our fans are truly stupid.

Sure there is. One guy had 21 more attempts.

1 for 31 is significantly worse than 0 for 10. Triple the chances, and only 1 hit to show for it. Even worse when you consider he's 0 for his last twenty-something.

Thompson going back to his freshmen year has had this odd group of loyalists that swear he’s really good despite all of the evidence to the contrary. Jay tried like hell to bring in someone to replace him but the draft messed that up.

Benching him in a winner take all championship for a compete unknown isn’t happening though. All you can do now is take the words of a retarded former football coach here, hope and pray he either somehow busts out or at least isn’t hurting the team because he’s mentally shot.

Who are we going to play in his spot? Nippolt has made errors while at second and in limited action and is no threat at all to run into a ball on offense.

Merrifield has no hits at all.

We don’t have any other option but to ride Thompson especially being it’s the last game of the season.

Paul left the team in shambles despite his defenders screaming about the super spot.

Yet somehow Thompson only has 1 more hit than Merrifield in Omaha.
