Pitching staff 1-2-3 and Fontenot as a closer is as good as any staff in the country

Ben knows the game, but he doesn’t know the teams until May rolls around. Even then he’s an LSU homer. Love the guy.

I feel like Ben always shoots a pretty straight arrow. He’s not slow to point out the flaws when they are there. He’s been openly critical of the offense the past couple of seasons.

That absolute POS Ryan Clark is sometimes confused as an LSU homer and he said in spring 2019 that the football team was legit.

Maybe Ben knows what he’s looking at.

Ben works for SECN. He'd speak highly of ANY SEC team. It's kind of his job now...

I disagree I think he’s a straight shooter. He says Ole Miss may be the team to beat w everyone returning!

All he did was speak highly of the team. He knows the talent is there. Now, whether that talent produces is another story. How does this make him an "LSU homer"? Do we just disregard anything anyone says until May?

All depends on what they get out of Jaden

So, is this the beginning of LSU taking the torch back from Vanderbilt? Vandy is the best program in the SEC right now. Anybody that says otherwise hasn’t been paying attention. LSU has slipped !

You ask like it’s a bad thing.

We just need a consistently strong season! It would just make overall life better right now huh?

Yeah, brilliant. Let’s pick a guy who won’t take bigger jobs because he prefers his quality of life.

Florida is 1B also. We need our offense to improve greatly.

Vandy has 2 studs in Kumar Rocker and Jack Leiter. Probably the best 1-2 guys nationally. I don’t know what else they have though, but those 2 guys will get you wins. As long as they can stay healthy, LSUs staff is gonna be really good.

I don't think Ben wears his purple colored glasses all the time and is one of the best college baseball analysts around including Kyle Peterson. He's a pretty straight shooter. I think with all the returning talent due to COVID, this is going to be one of the most competitive college baseball seasons ever. A lot of talent opted to stay in school another year, and bigger rosters means a lot of really good/deep pitching staffs all around the country.

Pitching with this team is absolutely stacked. Top to bottom, I'd put them up against any staff in the country. The only team that may have a better starting rotation is Vandy. I'd still take LSU's whole staff, though.

The question mark is how these young hitters are going to perform. The SEC as a whole has some damn good pitchers in it. It'll be tough sledding at the plate for a while, but our pitching staff should give us an opportunity to win a ton of games and potential find their way into a national seed.

Defense is going to be what it is, really good to great, but probably not elite.
