I actually wonder about the Easter/ date change thing myself. The vernal equinox and autumnal equinox are set dates, correct? With that being the case and the date of Easter dependent on that date, and Mardi Gras dependent on those daes, hy are all those dates not set?

The Vernal equinox can be March 19 or 20 or even 21. It is NOT a set date every year.
