It is that simple. Do you want the song back or not?

I would venture to guess 99% of the students don't care about having the song back if you can't say the words. Other than that what's the point of Neck?

On the fine, my understanding is the FCC warned LSU that if the chant is caught and broadcast on the air, LSU would be fined (a lot). If the crowd is loud enough it could be picked up while the commentators are talking at halftime or playing a taped sideline interview, etc., but playing it after the game is over (and off the air) seems perfectly safe. Too bad, I wish they could play it at the end of halftime to pump up the crowd for the 2nd half (though I know the band usually is on break then).

I just don't believe the part about the fine. I've never seen anything more than message board comments or hearsay. I think LSU simply doesn't like the optics of it. Obviously.

Just so I'm clear on your plan...you're going to start an altercation with a random stranger because he chants a few bad words that 20,000 other fans are also chanting, risk getting into a fight and getting your arse whipped, possibly have your daughter also get hurt due to the fighting adults around her falling on her, have the kid's night ruined by getting kicked out of the stadium and possibly watching her dad taken away in handcuffs. Sounds like a Saturday night she'll always remember

The FCC would fine CBS, not LSU. This would also be a matter of public record.

OBJ did not offer to pay any fine, because there is no fine to LSU. It sounds like an awesome story but it didn’t happen.

CBS and other networks might warn or inform LSU that they will need help keeping the crowd down. That, or just wanting a more family friendly atmosphere, is the reason LSU won’t play Neck.

I'm confused as to what fine everyone is referring to.

Who administers the fine?
What rule was broken?

They took away tailgating on Nicholson.

They took away free parking at the levee lots.

You have to pay for certain tailgate spots now.

The frats got banned from tailgating on the Parade Grounds.

Traffic is still a mess.

The marquee OOC games are being moved to neutral sites, while season ticket package prices remain the same.

Our AD’s incompetence cost us a home game this year.

Ticket prices, concessions prices, parking prices continue to rise, despite the game day experience declining.

One of the best bands in CFB is slowly being replaced by piped in rap music.

Couldn’t be happier that the students engaged in some harmless, classless, vulgar fun. I hope it continues. Maybe enough cursing at games will drive out the “somebody PLEASE, think of the children” crowd and Tiger Stadium will regain some of its past glory.

Vulgarity aside, it's just a bad chant. No rhythm and and an extra word jammed in at the end.
