The difference between the greatness he was about to bring, and the setback this caused the program, is vast.

Tragic story. He should have been a beloved household name.

I remember speaking to an old meteorologist about the Rein incident who said that if that plane had waited even 15 minutes Bo Rein would have spent the night in his bed. Tragic

It was a tragedy yes!! He would've left in a heartbeat as soon as the Ohio State job opened

Hmm, would have been interesting to see if OSU fans would have tried to claim responsibility for his success at LSU too.

I know it's nice to romanticize his potential considering how tragic the story is, but there is no way being able to quantify the "greatness" he was about to bring.

How so? They’re pretty sure the cabin lost pressure and oxygen due to a defect or servicing error. Don’t see how 15 minutes would’ve made any difference.

Weather was only a factor in that his plane had to go around a system before turning south from Shreveport to Baton Rouge. The cause was probably loss of cabin pressure as best anyone could tell. The wreckage was never recovered.

I was like 13 years old when that happened. Remember seeing my uncles face the next morning. He sported an LSU cap but his facial expressions were like he had seen a ghost. Gave me chills.
