How pathetic is it that you have to have other make points for you. So sad.

How pathetic is it, Ben? You should ask your buddy, Lester Earl.

Same record that got miles fired and had a worse offense than all but one of miles' offenses(2009).
Rick, pretty simple question for you; are all wins & losses the same?

I would've thought that you would've slunk off into the corner after your pathetic argument on an extension yesterday. So embarrassing.

Well, we can’t all assert that not giving him an extension will cause future coaches to turn down a lucrative offer from LSU, can we? That is just brilliant.

Until the offensive side of the ball is addressed, no.

This I agree with. But you got every other part of your post wrong

It doesn't matter what you assert. The accepted norm is extend a coach to show confidence so as not to affect recruiting. Whether you like it or not. You're like the knight tilting at windmills.

So angry. All the time.
I posted that because your statement was meaningless. I don’t give a shite what the norm is. That’s not what I was arguing. But keep on being clueless.

You say this with no explanation except your childish Charlie Brown signature....I'm so not impressed.
For frick's sake...do you realize how many times I've spelled out my feelings about Ed Orgeron on this board? Is there anyone, honestly, who reads this place often who has NOT read a post of mine and knows exactly what and why I think what I do about his chances here? Must I...EVERY SINGLE frickING TIME...write out an entire explanation, that will only be ignored by guys like yourself after having done so? I'm boring myself at this point repeating myself over and over again...but your issue is that I was brief for once?

GeauxTigerTM! You're an idiot.
Let's see where this goes...
quote:
O is a finalist for National coach of the year because of the outstanding job he's done this year when absolutely no one gave the Tigers or the coach any chance at all for even having a prayer of making the playoffs.
Several things.
1) Much like others too stupid to realize it, you're touting Orgegon surpassing his own incredibly low national perception as a positive. Do you realize what a back-handed compliment that is? It could be stated much like this. "Boy...we really thought coach Ed Orgeron was a complete idiot who would never win more than 6 games at LSU this year...but it turns out he's not that bad, and managed a 5-3 SEC record." Awesome...really.
2) Unlike the national media, local folks...and most importantly most of the most critical posters ON THE VERY SITE YOU'RE ON predicted far batter records than the bullshite being mentioned as preseason predictions. Most of us here had this season going between 8-4 and 10-2. In fact, I had us at...drum roll...9-3. They ended up with the exact record I thought they would. the difference is that I was upfront about what that record would mean for me...and it would not be some triumphant season. In fact, the only folks here who were largely unwilling to make any predictions were those constantly touting how wrong national pundits were. Talk about having your cake and wanting to eat it too! Guys like you were pissed at the #24 starting position and the prediction by many in the press of a poor final record, but as soon as anyone here suggested that we ought to expect a 10 win season they were shut down and told to stop expecting too much. Folks...that's how you try and play tennis without a net.
3) We did not make the playoffs. We were not "close" to making the playoffs. We went 5-3 in the SEC. After the Florida loss, unless we were hoping for lightning to strike again for us, we needed to beat BAMA to have a legit shite at the CFP. Instead, we shat the bed, gave up 29 and scored ZERO. Even THEN we could have legit backed into the playoff had a ton of stuff happened in front of us and we taken care of A&M. But no... In short, being ranked in the Top 4 in the initial CFP made us no closer to the playoff this year than being ranked #2 in the first CFP in 2015 did. Or had you forgotten that's where we were before the wheels fell off that year? I don't recall anyone here suggesting that we ALMOST made the playoff that year based on that.
quote:
O and team overachieved
Again...they did not overachieve when compared to what even his most vocal critics expected of the team this season. The only way you can say this team overachieved is to accept the reason for WHY the national media picked us so low...and that would be to admit that Ed Orgeron is not respected nationally. But keep hanging your hat on that...
quote:
God Almighty could be coach and folks like you would still find fault and complain about something....
I'll admit...I like this one. Usually guys just compare Ed to Saban and Dabo, but this really takes it up a notch, so well done I guess.

Your post are too long. I’ve read a few but could only get through half of this last one, for instance. May try & be more pointed

Amazingly close this year. Two things needed:
1. Beat FLA which they were very close to doing.
2. Beat A&M which they were very close to doing.
