You can't convince me Boise St, SMU, Indiana, even Miami or Penn St would beat Bama or Ole Miss. or Miami and Penn St would beat Georgia. They're all ranked ahead of them like that. I don't even think Penn St, Notre Dame should be ranked ahead of Bama and Ole Miss. Notre Dame has the 85th ranked SOS. Penn St only tough game was Ohio St and they lost.

I think Texas is the 4th best SEC team, maybe 5th, yet they are ranked at very top of SEC and 3rd in nation. Their best win was a 3 pt win vs Vandy. They have 0 top 25 wins. Only tough game was getting blown out at home vs UGA.

There's just a severe lack of understanding amongst pollsters just how important strength of schedule is. In my opinion, it isn't just important, it is the only thing.

In my opinion a Top 5 strength of schedule with 3 losses is more impressive than a 70th-130th ranked strength of schedule with 1 loss.

Should've clarified I mean 12 team BCS playoff.

Nah, I’m enjoying the expanded playoff.

I did think 12 teams was too much. I thought 6 teams was perfect. But whatever, it’s fun.

Oh, are you saying we keep a 12-team playoff but have them ranked by the same method as when it was the BCS? Yeah I’m with you there.

What would Oklahoma’s record be with Indiana’s schedule? I’d say 9-2. My UGA said 10-1.
Even with that i think Indiana should still make it.

Bring back the computers

No, I'm saying 12 teams but a BCS system that rewards SOS.

If the BCS Still Existed, This would have been the computer scores for this week prior to the games being played. The only computer that does not release their rankings by week is Anderson and Hester.

Computers: Billingsley, Colley, Wolfe, Massey, Sagarin
Highest Score, Lowest Score Eliminated

Highest score achievable = 75 pts. (#1=25, #2=24....)

Score is Computer pts/75pts.

1 Oregon 1.0000
2 Ohio St 0.9467
3 Texas 0.8667
4 Penn St 0.8667
5 Indiana 0.8667
6 Georgia 0.8133
7 Notre Dame 0.7200
8 Miami FL 0.6533
9 Alabama 0.6667
10 SMU 0.7200
11 Mississippi 0.5467
12 BYU 0.6133
13 Clemson 0.4933
14 Boise St 0.5333
15 Texas A&M 0.3867
16 Tennessee 0.4133
17 Colorado 0.4000
18 Army 0.3867
19 South Carolina 0.2933
20 Iowa St 0.2800
21 Kansas St 0.2133
22 Tulane 0.1600
23 Arizona St 0.1867
24 Missouri 0.0267
25 Washington St 0.0267
26 Louisville 0.0267

Just remember in the BCS era, the Harris Poll and Coaches poll were also factored into the standings

In the last 50 years only one team with two losses won a national championship. Now we are complaining about three loss teams not getting a shot? If you miss a twelve team playoff, you did not deserve a chance to play for a national championship.

Doesn’t matter, if that’s how the year plays out it is what it is.

You don’t get a free pass playing inconsistent football.

Could Bama beat anyone? Probably.
Can they lose to anyone. Yes

What happened to Florida State last year was a terrible way to leave a bad taste in my mouth with the whole 4 team playoff.
The committee ruined Florida State.

Just glad that will never happen again.

Saban said yesterday they should give more weight to beating top 25 teams. I can live with that.

Remember that they removed SOS as a stand-alione criteria in the BCS formula after USCw and their big media market was left out in '03.

@bcsknowhow.com on X does all of the calculations week to week and compares them to the committee.

I get in very heated arguments about this with a friend of mine. He wants the computers no where near it. He says man puts the information into the computer so it is just like the committee. I tell him he is a dumb arse. The BCS formula isn't perfect, but it is much better than 12 people sitting in a room and just coming up with 12 teams based on no specific criteria.
