Sicem365.com

3 days ago, they thought it was unfathomable and thought us bumpkin LSU fans were just trying to "speak it into existence", but it is starting to sink in that the ship is sailing.

That site has a separate board for women's basketball . Maybe we will get to that point here. Baby steps...

You can all scan the board yourself, but here is a general synopsis:

--Some people still think the situation with the placement of their new arena has something to do with her wanting to leave.

--Others are pointing out that she has family in LA and may want a new challenge.

--Most are in "oh shite" mode when it comes to finding a replacement, which is totally understandable.

--Some of their folks say that she has become a "spoiled brat" and is used to getting what she wants. I'll gladly take that problem off their hands.

--Most do seem genuinely appreciative of all she did for their university

--One poster threw out the numbers $2.9 million/6 years as being LSU's offer. Not sure how credible he/she is.

--They wonder how we can afford to pay Mulkey when our last coach made $700K. They apparently aren't aware of how Scott Woodward operates

It’s hard to believe for either fanbase.

Why didn’t LSU try after Pokey or Van Chancellor when the program was still relevant or not too far removed from its best years?

When one of the premier colleges for athletics comes calling, it would be tough to turn down the job, regardless of the family connection.

Baylor fans need to understand they are not LSU.

LSU is an athletic colossus with resources unlimited. You can toss a football, a baseball, a softball, and a basketball into the skies of the state, and there is a good chance it will land on the lawn of a 4 or 5 star high school athlete.

And, unlike in texas, there is no in-state competition.

And the Big-12 isn't the SEC.

If Mulkey does indeed get this job, I think part of it would be a desire to coach in the SEC.

Honestly a credit to what Dawn Staley at USCe has done. As well as moo moo state for that matter. For the longest time the league was a wash for UT. If this hire is true then the SEC could become the epicenter of women’s basketball

Didn't Baylor win a national championship in men's basketball earlier this month? Their women's team has won 3 since 2005. And that is with all the competition in Texas

When is the last time LSU, the athletic colossus, has won a national championship in men's or women's basketball?

Trying to ignore the massive delusion in this thread...

The non-premium portion of 365 for Baylor is dog shite...the real fans with real info and who really give a fck pay the 99cents and aren’t posting in that thread, guaranteed. You really don’t understand how little the non-premium site is used compared to the actual site that you can’t even see.

LSU WBB history: Pokey was a very successful Head Coach for 3+ years, leading the Lady Tigers to the Final Four three times. But she resigned in a relationship scandal.

Most LSU fans don’t give a damn about Women’s Basketball and they won’t even if Kim Mulkey comes to Baton Rouge. I will say this, if LSU in their Woke state they are in hires Mulkey snd overpays her to the tune of 2.5 to 3 million there will be problems with the coaches and staff of every other sport. LSU just a year ago laid off some support personnel, froze salaries, did away with bonuses, etc. If they now bring in a woman to coach a program which LOSES 4 MILLION DOLLARS PER YEAR then you will rightfully have some pissed off coaches. If they pay a woman to run a money losing program more than they pay Will Wade then all sense and logic has left the LSU Athletic Department.

They won't be losing 4 mill a year if she's hired. That's a fact.

I would assume this is why you're getting downvoted, and rightly so. You haven't been reading this board much the last few days if you think this.

Mulkey might be just what Wade needs. This hire very well could get the ball rolling on a new and improved P-Mac!
