I went to a handful of fall scrimmages and Peterson looked like the same guy we saw during the season last year. Now granted, our lineup will be one of the best in the SEC but other guys had success vs them. He's got a lot of potential but his fastball is flat and he sits 89-91. Then again, you never know when the light will turn on.

Adam, I'm sure you'll elaborate more when you do your annual breakdown (which I look forward to every season...thanks). Do you think Peterson on Sunday will stick because he will perform well or because no one else will step up?
I think he’s going to improve.
He wasn’t healthy last year and he was out of shape towards the end of the year, his freshman performances wasnt near his ceiling.
When he’s on his game he has a low 90’s fastball, he can control 3 pitches, and has a big frame where he won’t wear out (and much better conditioning since September) it’s not out of question that he can be a good #3. He got a ton of swing and misses at times and at others he left pitches up on two strike counts and got crushed...
If he doesn’t work out there he’ll be an excellent weekday starter or long reliever.

2B Broussard
Can anybody fill me in on this guy? How good is he? Is he a freshman or JUCO guy?

JUCO
He tore it up at Delgado last year, hit .429

If our DH is so bad he bats 9th then why the HELL is he the DH.
eta: yeah i'm retarded. I'll leave my post up for shaming purposes.

A JUCO from Delgado.
He’s a very good glove. His bat will determine if he stays full time in the lineup.
The two main competitions are going to be 2B with Broussard and Hughes and DH with Jordan, Coomes, and Webre.

how i feel about baseball season being here.....

Webre can hit the crap out of the ball correct? I've heard some posters the past few months say he was a pretty darn good hitter. I figured Beau Jordan would start at DH but if Webre is as good as advertised, he may slide in and start.

Yes he has the Schimpf type swing

Webre had a high strikeout rate in summer league and fall, and still had a solid BA. Given time, I think he’ll adjust just fine to this level pitching.
Being a lefty with average wheels, I could easily see him beating out Beau Jordan and Nick Coomes for DH at some point this year similar to what Zach Watson did last year.

Kendall Rogers is a big fan of Hilliard.

Maybe we should move Peterson to first base.
That seems to solve a couple problems some folks here have with the pre-season lineups.

I thought the same thing
Not sure I like Beau at dh

With Tutko and Gibbs building an analytics dept, I feel like we aren't just tracking these things, but will do stuff with it. I would love to be in there with all the data they get.
