My bold prediction is Cade Doughty will lead LSU in hits this year

Cade might be the new Dups, bold indeed.

They're not really all that alike. Doughty has much more power potential than Duplantis did.

Off to an interesting start. 2/3 have cheesy mustaches. CPM finally let's these guys have facial hair and they have no idea what to do with it

Noticed this and truly hope it was an inside joke at the moment or for pics or smthg....
Hope the team doesnt look like trailer park adolescents or creepy pedophiles all thru the lineup.

There have been some slight position changes on the roster.

Crews and Safford both now listed as INF/OF. Crews was previously OF only, Safford INF only.

Beloso listed as OF/1B. Was previously either 1B or INF, not sure which.

Drost listed as OF only. We knew the LHP part was on the back burner for a little bit, but they've now taken it off his profile.

Braden Doughty listed as C/Util instead of just C. He's played late in games at 2B and maybe 1B, so it fits.

Hellmers still only listed at RHP, but does have a walk out song for pitching and hitting.

Why are you concerned with what 18-22 year old men look like?

I have a feeling he’s going to slide Crews over to 3B and take whatever defense he gives you if both Arnold/Cranford aren’t hitting at the same time.

It was actually one of the things I kept getting stuck while doing write ups was what happens if both Arnold and Cranford are slumping do you then rely on Safford or Thompson?

In the end I hope Crews sticks in RF where he needs to be.

Same reason you’re concerned with my opinion I guess

Dugas or C Doughty couldn’t be more effective at 3rd than Crews if need be??

First of all, I always love this thread. Thank you and great job.

I want to comment on every single position, but I'll try to wait a few days.

Catcher: Milazzo is a stud. He hasn't even matured yet, but we may see him do so early this year. Big baseball IQ. He's a kid that could really strengthen the bottom third of the order, even if he doesn't hit for high average and just hits as a clutch guy at the bottom. Second clean up guy, perhaps.

1B: Morgan was a really good get. The Brother Martin camp believes he's every bit of what Deichmann was and more. Light tower power but really just stays true to his fundamentals. If he gets real comfortable, you may see that power get streaky. PM likes him as high as 2 but he may end up being the 3-hole guy. Beloso will probably still get some time here, even if he works mostly in LF and DH. I'd prefer Morgan at 2 and Beloso at 4 to split up the lefties.

2B: Doughty is gonna break out. I think he got a little lazy, thinking he would just walk through. He now realizes that he needs to work to be the best. I expect him to lead off, at least initially. Doughty, Morgan, Crews?, Beloso. If another lefty (Gio, Safford) emerges at leadoff, you just slide everybody back one slot.

I wonder if we get more power bats out of Beloso this year.

That’s something I’ve also been thinking about. It took till the last game for him to race one out

I don't think so. He's trimmed down some, which I don't necessarily think means he got weaker but I do believe that means he hasn't focused any more on a power swing. I'm fine with him doing what he's been doing, any more power is lagniappe. We don't need him going for broke in big situations. We just need him to be a good hitter in big situations.
