Mitchell also leads the team in walks with 35. He leads the team with a 471 OBP. He leads the team with 27 SB. To me, that screams almost perfect leadoff hitter.
And he didn't swing because the ball wasn't over the plate. The ump called them strikes, but it was a pretty awful call.

It's a reasonable opinion to say that we shouldn't have bunted in that situation.
It's not reasonable to say that bunting is always a bad strategy.
