A lot of it seems to be lack of comfort and trust. Hilliard thought he earned a weekend starter role last season and was disappointed when he landed in the pen. Also from watching him in high school Hilliard’s slider was one of the best I’ve ever seen. It’s better than the curve. But for whatever reason Dunn is obsessed with the 12-6 curve. He did the same with Lange and other pitchers who possessed a wipe out slider.

What a legend. He's taken a team of returning high draft picks and the number 1 class in the country and turned them into a team that's gonna struggle to make the postseason. What a fricking legend, and he only has the most passionate fan base and best facilities to work with.

It doesn’t work that way.
Hilliard has two pitches, opponents know that. They have a book on him now. Besides, he hasn’t been as sharp as he was in 18.
Hess is a better pitcher. Use him rather than hoping we get a lead and letting him close.

I don’t think the problem comes from Arky being the best hitting team.
