How poetic was it that they ended that game with a simple run play on 1st and 10.Clyde and the oline just ran right through their arse to put the game away. No more satisfying way to end that losing streak than for lsu to be the ones pushing them around in their house after all the years of LSU getting pushed around.

I remember sitting stunned at halftime. None of it seemed real. Didn’t know what to do.

2nd half got a bit scary, until it didn't

The fluke interception burrow threw that tipped off the Bama defender is why it was close. They were driving down the field and I firmly believe LSU scores a touchdown on that drive to go up an insurmountable amount and they blow them out.

That 1st td to Chase is probably my all time favorite play.
Just made it look easy against a great cb- after a couple of shutouts against bama, this game was going to be different.

I knew we would win after Burrow carved up the Gump defense on that first drive.

Yep.

That play and drive let everyone know immediately that year's game was going to different. For the better part of the prior 10 seasons it felt like a herculean task for LSU to score any TD against Alabama. On that drive LSU effortlessly went 92 yards on 6 plays finishing with a WR walking in for a TD while an Alabama DB was helplessly spinning on the ground. All prior PTSD was gone in that instance.

Then, when LSU got the interception at the end of the 2Q and immediately scored again to make it 33-13, I think LSU fans were as surprised as Alabama fans. In a game that had such huge hype LSU was dominating Alabama like no team had ever done before to a Saban Alabama team.

The defense falling apart in the second half made it a FAR more stressful game than anyone thought it would be at halftime. Of course, that produced what may be the most underrated play in LSU history, CEH's 3rd down conversion where he simply ran though two Alabama defenders for 10 yards to keep LSU's drive alive. It was a 6 point game at that point and Alabama had ALL of the momentum with LSU clearly unable to stop them. I fully believe that if CEH doesn't make that play Alabama ultimately ends up winning the game.

Should have been...but it wasn't.

Alabama scored on a 75 yard TD the very next offensive play with two TOs still remaining, which gave them an onsides kick opportunity. It gets forgotten, but Jefferson made a great catch on what was a really good onsides kick. It was the next play that was the nail in the coffin when CHE, helped by his OL, just bullied Alabama for 7 yards and the game ending 1st down.

You ain't lying. 3rd and 10, swing pass outside at the line of scrimmage with a couple Bama defenders in great position to make the tackle and get off the field. CEH catches it, reads the situation fast and just hits the gas straight up the field. If he hesitates for even a blink, the outcome is completely different.

I still find it wild that for that game (and the whole season) we werent ever really in danger of losing. No opponent had the ball in the 4th quarter with a chance to tie or take the lead. Anytime it got to a one score game late, we had the ball and drove, 100% of the time to go up 2 scores before the other team got the ball back.

God that game was fun to watch.

The onside kick was terrifying, if they recover they probably win.

I was at that game and sat next to an older Bama fan. We chit chatted throughout the game and was seemed pretty chill over the course of the game but that play set him off He shook my hand and told me we earned it and would be pulling for the Tigers to win a championship and left the stadium.

Moss’s tip toe catch right before half happened right in front of me and was shocked the play stood.

In all honesty at the time I was pissed about this touch down! the game would have virtually been over if they tried not to score. But scoring on this play gave bama time to come back. Which we immediately saw with that long td to smith.
