See if they’d be willing to hire an LSU alum as head of officiating (similar to former Steve Shaw) and move the SEC offices to New Orleans if that will help.

When you conclude that you lose because of a missed call and NOT because you could not rush the ball with consistency, you must be a Bama fan.

Its not a block in the back - he was engaged with him straight up ahead of it. If a defender turns their back on you, you can still engage them.
Unless I'm wrong, but someone will let me know.

This is exactly right. Taylor was already engaged with the defender when he turned his back to Taylor. Under the rules it was a good no call.

Alabama fans obsessing about officiating and how they were screwed! How ironic. Alabama has been screwing every team in this conference for years with favorable officiating and now they are the ones bitching about officiating! That's rich.
These Alabama fans are delusional. These gumps obviously didn't see the hold on Perkins, the fumble that wasn't, the tipped pass; but this phantom block in the back is the reason Alabama lost the game. Let these Alabama bitches cry. Alabama got more than their fair share of calls in this game and they still lost. They can't even take an L with class.

Exactly. You can't spin around after contact has been made and draw a block in the back penalty
Gumps are retarded. More at 10

It’s not a freaking block in the back when you are already engaged in blocking them then shift to push them in the back. Your initial blocking contact can’t start in the back.
God they are an insufferable and stupid fanbase.

Questionable calls are part of the rivalry. Nice to be on the other end for once.

The fact that Bama has become what they used to mock in other teams is pure bliss!

F**k them...we have dozens of plays we've been screwed by the refs or B-ham replay over the years.
One play doesn't determine the outcome...we kicked their arse...get use to it...

Bama has never actually lost a game, didn’t you know that?
Posted on 11/8/22 at 10:21 am to The Real Drooby
It was not a block in the back. The LSU blocker engaged the Bama player front to front. The Bama player turned his back to try to get away from the block. That is a block in the front and an attempted spin move, not a block in the back.

Right. Here is the rule (with my emphasis added). This should end the nonsense, but it probably won't.
Block in the Back
ARTICLE 4.
A block in the back is contact against an opponent occurring when the force of the initial contact is from behind and above the waist. When in question, the contact is at or below below the waist (see Clipping, Rule 2-5) (Rule 9-3-6) (A.R. 9-3-3-I-VII and A.R. 10-2-2-XII).
The position of the blocker’s head or feet does not necessarily indicate the point of initial contact.

that is laid out very well. thanks for this information.
the downfield blocking on that play was awesome. 8 had his guy on the bench blocking him. and 27 threw a jab at the inside shoulder of the db and totally kept him out of the play.
this shows guys playing for each other. down field blocking differentiates good plays from BIG plays. love it!
