Now that we know Nuss is back, what do we do about the depth behind him?

Hurley coming out in the spring. Should be good. Hope he has patience.

I’m 72 and may be better than Swann…. Sad, I have no confidence in him as a backup. But,

If Hurley makes a move and can be a legit backup, then Swann is a perfectly acceptable 3rd as long as we sign the kid who pushed back from signing with UNC. Swann has started in the SEC. How many 3rd stringers can say that?

If we don’t sign a HS QB, then we will need a portal QB for roster stability. Swann may have to be pushed out for the roster spot if that’s the case.

We are still recruiting high school prospect Bryce Baker, aren't we?

ETA: looks like he might be staying committed to UNC

I do not wanna see Swann anywhere near that field. Seriously. If something were to happen to Nuss, I'd rather deal with the growing pains of Hurley.

IMO, BK didn't want to spook Nussmeier into a possible transfer by bringing in someone that could compete for QB1.

You're assuming a quarterback would want to transfer in and compete which is highly doubtful.

I know it’s a longshot anything happens with this guy, but people forget we signed Knox Dyson as a PWO last year from Oklahoma.

Out of high school he threw for over 3,000 yards and threw 33 TDs.

So he seemingly has talent. I wouldn’t expect to see him unless it’s a severely catastrophic injury plagued season, but he is another player in the development pipeline.

Well … should have expected that I guess.

Swan was clearly not ready. Because we rolled out Swann instead of Collins when Nuss went down Ricky left. They should have put in Collins, or Hurley in my opinion.
But that’s why I’m sitting on the sofa and they’re out there calling plays.

I’m pretty sure you have cause and effect reversed. They brought out Swann because Collins had already decided to transfer.

Agreed. It does no good to put in Swann unless there’s an injury with Hurley. Let Hurley take his lumps good or bad.
