One of these is not like the other. In fact, one of these is unmatched and is a HOF coach while still active.

Coming from someone who definitely isn't anti-O, if we don't think O can compete with Mullen, Jimbo, and Gus... we are in deep doo doo.

I do expect, and think he can, compete with those 3. If he doesn't meet those expectations, then he can't and needs to go.

Backing coach "O"

Darn right! Guy took over early last season after YEARS of OFF ineptness and we improved. IF Guice goes the right way (self-admitting) on the designed play, he walks into the end zone and we beat UF. He also finished the recruiting cycle strong and most of that cycle we had a coach in transition. Says a lot about him and our staff.

This season the early loss to MSU was tough, and the loss to Troy down right inexcusable. With that said our team, our staff, bounced back. They played hard and well down the stretch. The improvements made under CEO are evident. Our QB is in control of the OFF. We manage our timeouts and the game clock MUCH better. We are prepared to play FB and adjust constantly throughout the game in order to compete. We finished the season 9-3 and are going to the Citrus Bowl to beat ND!

In recruiting we are poised to finish in the top 6-10 (Surtain, Marshall, Joseph, Joiner, Traore, etc), and maybe even higher IF Rogers and Cook come to Death Valley. Understand next season's schedule looks daunting, but let's move forward smartly as a program behind our coach and play LSU TIGER FB. I believe our BEST FB still lies ahead of us.

So we should accept a bad hire in Coach O because at least we're not as bad as Tennessee? That's the low self-image that I love about Tiger fans. It takes a dumpster fire somewhere else to make us embrace a giant helping of AVERAGE.

Yeah, LSU looked really prepared at the start of the season. They were smoking prepared at Mississippi State and against Troy. I was telling friends, shite, but this LSU team is so prepared!

Nice recovery but crap in the bed start.

If CEO loses Canada his days are numbered. He is not an offensive coach and should stay the frick out of the offense.

Other than that I think he has done an ok job, it is a shame that the players had to be the ones that turned the season around. Maybe he learned from the Troy game.

He's already shown he can compete with Gus. Mullen wooped his arse and Jimbo likely will too. I can't see how any of you don't understand how huge of an impact Jimbo is about to start having on LSU's program just by being at aTm. He was good for 1-2 top LA athletes every recruiting class getting them to go all the way to Tallahassee. Now he just has to get them to College Station.... wtf do you think is going to happen?

F coach O. Just like Johnny Jones will not support FB til he’s out. In this case, like with JJ, the grass is most definitely greener on the other side.

I guess b/c the 'rant' would have you believe our FB program is in total disarray. We must have finished with a losing record, transfers abound, and our incoming recruiting class must be in shambles. Quite the contrary. Heck the ESPN power poll has us at #12 this week, Coaches poll (our peers) has us at #14. We must be doing something right...

The reason O was hired was because of the plan he presented to Alleva during the coaching search. He nor anyone else claimed he was a better head coach. What he did do is acknowledge his weaknes/faults and knew there must be compensation (aranda,canada..ect).
Guy is both an elite recruiter and motivator. Only the insane(miles/cameron) repeatedly do the same thing expecting different results. O knows how to adapt and is willing to make changes.
I know I'm going out on a limb here but I think his tenure will be more successful than Miles at LSU.

Yes, I would say that is going out on a limb.

Bravo goon. You made fair criticisms while also conceding the positives.

That's what the anti O people don't get, it's possible to support your coach and criticize his faults at the same time.

Then go away George. If you're not going to support the football program then stop posting about it.

You right. Miles never did that. Saban did though!
By your logic Miles must be better than Saban then right. Which puts O in the same company as Saban.
Poor LSU and Bama. We're never going to win any games with these coaches....

Not really. In fact he's at the same basic level, with a loss to Troy.
10-3
10-3
8-5
9-3 w/ a cancellation.

That's exactly what the head coach at LSU is expected to do.

How many championships did we win with McClendon? The "Cholly Mac" who is so revered and idolized by the same board who has rejected Coach O?
