He is 16-5 at Lsu as a HC counting the bowl. 16-3 vs everyone but Bama.

and with many obstacles; and he faced those obstacles head on. the OL issues forcing him to play 2 and sometimes 3 freshmen; the injuries to 3 of our best DL (ok, I was suspended) and the injury to Guice. sure, he made some mistakes but at least he tries to learn from them.

i'm not a faithful O fan (like I was with Miles until late in the game) but that man deserves a damn chance to succeed. I am 100% behind him because he's LSU and his results up to this point. constant bashing him on this board is juvenile.

You right. Miles never did that. Saban did though!
By your logic Miles must be better than Saban then righ

except Saban had taken the Cleveland Browns and turned them into the #1 defense in the nfl and taken a program coming off sanctions and had a top 10 finish.

you people comparing Saban's time before lsu to O's time before lsu need help.

no one was even trying to hire O as a coordinator before lsu while saban had been a very successful nfl coordinator and a good head coach.

pointing out his mistakes and failures isnt bashing him.

those things happened.
yes the team turned around but our chance of winning anything of importance was over by week 5.

Darn right! Guy took over early last season after YEARS of OFF ineptness and we improved.

we improved by playing crap run defenses.
thise great offensive outputs were on the backs of rushing for 418 yards and 390 yards.

in fact miles' last full season had more yards per game and points per game than this year.

improvements made under CEO are evident.

name them. as of right now he has worse win% than the coach we fired. he has horrible losses against vastly inferior teams.sounds just like what got miles fired.we were (1) 58 yard run from scoring 3 points against bama in 2 years. we havent had a lead against bama for 1 second, since miles was fired. where is this evident improvement?
we were last in the west in pts per game. Every year under miles, except 2009 & 2014 we scored more points per game than we did THIS YEAR.

F coach O. Just like Johnny Jones will not support FB til he’s out. In this case, like with JJ, the grass is most definitely greener on the other side.

there is no need to say frick O. he deserves more respect than that IMO.

How is it that I disagreed with about 100% of your posts when Les was here, but now I find myself agreeing with just about everything you say in regards to O? Strange times.

the hiring process wasn't O's fault so what's your point? He's a good coach. people just need to give him a chance. the team wasn't at full strenght to begin the season but we ended it pretty good.

I support O, but it's probably not fair to expect many people to be able to compete with Saban, Gus, Jimbo, and Mullen every year.

I'm glad we're packing it in. What's the point of getting on the field then if this is the excuse?

I will admit, this happened far faster than I thought. I thought the fans would stay in it, and the administration was making a "Might as well save money while we can't compete for a championship" hire and people would be angry. But who cares, we can't compete with Saban, Gus, Jimbo, Mullen. I guess that's it?

Expectations are being adjusted for the new era.
Don't blame Orgeron, he didn't decide we were going to go cheap.
As odd as it sounds, you can blame Jindal, whose BOS and Chancellor made this happen. And Bobby was personally involved in much of it.

That/s the new cheer for the O enablers. Don't blame O, don't blame O. No matter what goes wrong, don't blame O!

It's the BOS or the governor or the AD or the OC. You guys are too funny!

If we beat ND, we will likely finish around 10-12 in the rankings

How many coaches in SEC history, the entire history of the conference, have finished ranked higher in their first year?

Les Miles
Gus
Kevin Sumlin

I can think of those off hand. I honestly would guess the list is less than 10.

So, in the entire history of the conference, O will have one of the best first years ever.

That isnt me creating a hoop to jump through, it is just a fact. So we can try and explain it away however yall would like, but this is a factual headline

Ed Orgeron Has One of the Most Successful First Years in SEC History

Did it include 11 wins, a west title, or a top 5 national ranking? If not, ho-hum.

So Orgeron should have stopped LSU from hiring him to a position he did not qualify For?
Oh, and tell them he didn’t want all that money?
Nice post...

I mean, we are only one coach in from the firing of a BCS winning coach. LSU still has time to fall to that. That's what multiple bad hires do.
