This phrase has a totally different meaning when you are discussing aTm!

But I'd also say that I'd not choose to play Arkansas on the road after coming off a big win, where one often sees a let down, going to play a team coming of a bye with 2 weeks to prepare for me. I was very worried about that and we managed.
Hoping we can be a trend buster Saturday as well.
We had gone something like the last 4-5 games vs Arkansas being decided by 3 points. A 34-10 final later and it looks like this team doesn't care about trends or historical precedent.

You may be right, but Brian Kelly's past also shows he can't win the big game either
This isn't that big of a game. Kelly wins this type of game all the time. Ole miss this year, Bama in '22 (that game was bigger).

In the SEC, playing back to back road games usually does not favor those teams.
True, but this includes the entirety of the SEC. Including Vandy, MSU, etc. And trends are simply trends. They don’t have specific influence on individual games.
How do the top teams fair?

It is not just the SEC. This is something that gamblers look at but it has more to do with covering the spread. The road team does loose about 60% of the time and does not cover the spread about 80%, but they are usually the favored when the spread is the issue.

If LSU can hold Texas A&M to 21 points and LSU scores 24 points..... then LSU wins.

He also beat LSU twice in Bowl games - over 2 coaches who won national titles over here, but not sure if those count as big games?

The only reason people think this is because when he does win a big game the narrative changed that it wasn't really a big game. When he loses then people pump their chest saying he can't win a big one. It's a tired narrative that isn't true.

Ok. Now look at the overall record between the two. I mean, we can do this all day but what's the point?

And the last 4 games vs. Arkansas were decided by 3 points. 5 of the last 6 by 7 or less.
What bearing did that have on the game this year? None. Each season is generally independent of the one that preceded it.
Is LSU at a larger disadvantage this week because they won on the road last week?

Against a historically bad defense?? Okay
That has nothing to do with this week’s game
Where do some of yall pull this shite from?

Since 2008, LSU played back to back conference road games (without a bye) in 7 seasons. They are 6-1 in those 2nd games and the only loss was in the COVID season.

Well that certainly changes this narrative don't it?

Not really as it doesn’t account for the times they lost the first game.
But the larger point remains that historical trends don’t have any impact on future events. It’s also not really revolutionary to say that winning on the road is hard.

Home team usually wins this series.

Saved me the research.
So yes, the SEC as a whole is bad in the second game of back to back road games, but LSU (and i would wager Alabama and Georgia as well) have been solid in those games.

Of the 70 teams having to play back to back road conference games, only 8 of them were able to win both games.
