I agree with this; you can't have too many cooks in this kitchen if they are being coordinated properly.

I think he may staying in a Administration / AD type role
I was always confused by this because his title fell under responsibility of the AD, but I would see him on the sideline with a headset next to coaches.

That transfer portal is why we are not 4-8. Especially on the defense. Maybe the offense didn't hit as good with exception of Moore and Thompson. B. Brown, N. Anderson, B. Sharp we definitely not as good as expected.
I keep hearing there might be a way for him to stay, but honestly, if you're Austin, you want to be the boss here. He will likely take his talent elsewhere and he will do good.

Moore would have been good if not fighting injury all year. Gooden and Pyburn were upgrades too. The WR transfers have been a bust as well as Sharp.

The talent is there, hell 3 of our losses should have been wins with our piss poor head coach bk
Don’t blame this on the talent

My bet is he takes Verge’s old spot.
Not sure if related, but Lane brought a senior associate AD for football ops Thaddeus Rivers. I'd bet he'll be in the running for part of Verge's old job or Austin Thomas' job. Technically Austin Thomas isn't titled as GM, so possible Glasscock takes that title.

Your expectations were too high.
I think Haulcey and Delane were All American level players.
Finding that is insane. Cooley was also good as was Pyburn. Both improved the team.
The only failure was not finding OL. But I don’t know how many were available.
ETA Gooden was one of the better players on defense too.

Agree with all these except Payton. He didn't do much off the edge as advertised

No, it's not. To your point, what did we get with our NIL? Not much.
He's gonna be replaced by GLASSCOCK

Evaluating the portal is critical. Just look up the top 10 portal earners and pretty much everyone didn't meet expectations, most not even close.
The best on the list were a few being about the same as last year with none
making any kind of improvement

Aware Kiffin brought Glasscok and Rivers.
But, this is a behemoth.
Plenty of room and work to do for AT to remain. Just need to carve out a title and define roles for him.
If he and Land can reconcile (of which I know for a fact AT was pushing for Lane so that must carry weight with LK, regardless of the breakup in Oxford).
AT
Glasscok
Rivers
Would be an incredible front office for the new empire.
Money is there, it just comes down to personalities, egos, titles, salaries, etc.
AT & Glasscock take the front office (and Rivers too, ok)
Frank W., Corey Raymond, Kyle Williams / Coach O on the DL to lock down in state base & top tier secondary in country.

I thought Cooley played well. Gooden, Patrick Payton, and Jack Pyburn all played well on the DL.
Does Gooden have any eligibility left. Stats don’t show but he dominates games. I feel like he could come back a year and be a first rounder.

quote:Sure, but he WAS better than Echols, making him our best guard. The main requirement for a transfer to be successful is to be better than who you already have, which Josh Thompson was. I agree that Thompson is not the caliber that we want at Guard, but that does not negate the fact that he was the best guard on our team.
He was barely any better than Echols

I wouldn’t mind seeing Curne/solomon Thomas get some run in the bowl game at guard to see what we have
