Hats off to this true Tiger. What a warrior.
He has been there for the team thru opt outs, COVID, coaching changes....
Plays hard every week and looks like he will anchor right side in Texas Bowl.
Pleasant surprise in 2021 college football world with so many players centered on themselves instead of the team.

I stayed at LSU for too long. The first 4 years were great. The last was horrendous. It took me 10 years to put it in perspective. I say this because I have wondered if Austin feels this way too. The early highs were so high, the later lows hurt even more.

Just so I can compare your situation accurately…..
We’re you a starter for the football team at LSU?
If not, I’m not sure anyone here cares about your college experience and it likely bears no similarities to Austin Deculus

This is a really Weird level of hostility. Anyone who has seen a dream scenario go sour over time and takes the ride down wonders if they got out too late. Much like John Ed Bradley’s book about playing at LSU makes clear, a lot of people struggle with their college experience. It was SO intense it’s hard to duplicate. And you don’t have to be on the football team to duplicate that feeling. It could be anything that was emotionally intense. Especially if it was part of a tight knit group. Damn people get so angry. What’s up with that?

I gave him a lot of sh for some of his past years, but he found his game this year and I believe he made himself some money.

He was pretty good in 2018 but struggled in pass protection. At the end of 2018 I posted on this board that Deculus would probably be a solid right tackle the next season and that I expected the offensive line to be very good. Those were unpopular opinions on here. They went on to win the award for best offensive line in the nation and put three players onto starting offensive lines in the NFL the next season.

Deculus did not find his game this year. He found it going into 2019.

There is entirely too much maturity in the last few comments. Put some whiskey in that coffee

People who continuously criticized Deculus here the last year are miserable pricks. This guy gave all he had and never quit. True warrior and loyal Tiger.

That's the same attitude that got us to back to back .500 seasons. Deculus wouldn't start for most SEC teams.

Reminds of those greasy haired looking wrestlers for the '90s.
