If LSU was an elite basketball team this year, trying to get a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, and playing their in-state hated rival, who is also pretty good this year, the student section would be raucous.
Auburn's basketball environment has been one of the worst in the SEC for a long, long time. It's amazing what winning does.

if we were 24-4, and 14-1 at home, our students would be packing the arena too.
I don't get why it's so hard for people to understand ... people tend to support winners. We're certainly better this year than last, and next year could be special, but fans support winners.
That's a universal fact of life.

Scream all you want, but I'm saying more people will attend games and get more energized when the team in winning, and by that, I mean winning big. That's not a "terrible way to live." It's reality.
You're just not going to get 14,000 energized people to pack the PMAC when the team is not even .500 in conference.
Now don't confuse not attending a game and screaming your arse off with NOT supporting the team. We all want the Tigers to win.
It just means that more people will turn out, and turn up the energy, when the team is winning.
I'm still shocked you don't get this concept. It applies to every team on earth.
