Auburn player who did an obvious soccer flop...

Someone smarter than I please tell me how can the NCAA clean up this crap. It was egregious and obvious, and CBK was losing his shite with the head ref (rightfully so).
I know we run the risk of that one in a thousand rare chance that it's a legitimate delayed injury, but 99.9% of these are ruining the game as evidenced last Sat night by Auburn. Is there some type of instant replay that the refs can use and the repercussions is similar to targeting? Just trying to think this through, and I can honestly say I don't recall LSU ever stooping down to this level...making it so obvious of a fake injury.

It seems like Auburn has always been notorious for doing this too.

I believe it was Jamal Adams (?) who did an epic flop in a game a few years ago - think he was on the sidelines after tackling someone, got pushed, and flopped. Drew the penalty on the opposing player.

I knew if I said "soccer flop" then it would lead someone to think I meant the famous thing that Jamal did against the Florida guy and got us a cheap 15 yards (which was brilliant btw by Jamal, showed his incredible football IQ). My apologies, I meant the obvious fake injury by yourself, not the Jamal faking like the shove was a punch. The fake injury that is designed to stop the momentum of the offense.

Last season, Ole Miss had “hurt” players every time a team had a drive going past mid-field. It was like clockwork.
I don’t think there is any way to detect if a player is truly hurt or not….a cramp is easy to fake. Maybe the “hurt” player has to sit out the entire possession instead of one play. ?????

Yes, flopping to get a personal foul (like basketball) vs a flop to stop the offense or change out personnel when you are out of time outs are 2 different things.

At least our student section won’t put up with it. They were chanting “he’s a p*ssy” against Miss St & the player was actually injured. Lol

At that point it was the first one of the game so the refs don't want to make a bad call. If it happens repeatedly then it's a problem.

They can implement a rule that requires a player to sit out the rest of the series if the game has to stop because of a possible injury.
Wasn’t this discussed as a rule to be implemented in recent years?

I imagine our defensive players will be told to go down if they have the slightest injury saturday...just saying

I’m sure there are complete fake injuries sometimes, but most of the time players are told that if they have anything minor to stay down instead of trying to limp or hobble off and run a different player on while everyone is lining up for the next play.

Yes I know Ole Miss fakes injuries often. It is a symptom of the coach imo. Some people are ok with exploiting every advantage you can take in the game. I remember last season I think Kiffin was clearly motioning for one of his players to go down as he was running off the field to get an extra TO for his defense. I am sure someone on the AU sideline told that player to fall after the Emery play knowing they had no timeouts. LSU did it under O a few times but not egregiously. Frustrating for fans and a pretty shitty move but not much to be done about it I can see.

More than 3 injury timeouts in a half result in a time out used. If no time outs it’s a 5 yard penalty.

It's a rational response to offensive coaches trying to speed up to the point where defenses can't substitute.

Any "injured" player should sit out the remainder of the possession AND the next possession. Want to avoid a player having to sit out, take a time out when he gets "injured" so that he can return immediately. If you start eating away at the time outs or having key players on the bench because of their "injury", maybe this might put a stop to some of this bullshite

This is dumb, because it’s in the rules: if the offense subs, the defense can sub too, and they’ll hold off on snapping the ball in order to let them

AUB soccer flop from several years ago

Coaches have to decide to get that shite out of the game. There is no way officiating can control that. It has to be shunned and punished by coaches.
It won't though.

In order for the D to be unable to sub, the O can’t sub either. So not rational.
Also, the obvious first step is to charge a timeout if they have any.
