Me and my wife, 32 and 31 looking to make a road trip this year for football and narrowed it down to Auburn and Tennessee. I have never been to either. Which do yall recommend?
We’ve been to Bama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Florida, and Texas A&M

Never been to Tennessee but a night game at Auburn is the loudest non-LSU environment I've ever been in. Hope that helps.

These two are actually two of my favorites that I’ve done. Don’t think you can go wrong with either.
Tennessee: One of the most unique tailgating scenes in football. All the flags on the boats on the river are awesome. If you can actually somehow get on one of the boats with someone, that would be the tiebreaker
Calhoun’s on the River is fun and walking distance to Neyland. You can also spend time downtown with restaurants and bars. Campus is ok, not breathtaking.
Auburn: Probably the best campus/college feel of any roadtrip I’ve ever taken. Campus is absolutely beautiful. Never had a problem with AU fans either, they are pretty nice. Even in the Cam Newton year, they were friendly and wished us luck against Bama after the game. Toomer’s Corner is really cool and there are good eateries right off the main gate. Jordan Hare atmosphere is electric.

Both are top 5 in league. Late
November in the smokies if ur an outdoorsy type could be spectacular.

They are both great stadiums
Auburn is my favorite road trip so far
The fans are very nice, they have some good restaurants and it’s a fun stadium that is loud.
If you have a camper look up UnivrRV resort. It’s a blast and they will take you to the game on busses
Tennessee has a lot of places to eat pre game in downtown area. We didn’t get the true Tennessee experience. They weren’t good, the weather was bad and Fournette went off

Was underwhelmed by Jordan-Hare atmosphere in ‘22. Had a great time and people were very friendly. LSU section was going nuts when Emery scored.
Will be in Knoxville this year.
To me, Aggie is by far loudest non LSU venue I’ve been to.

I'll be at Tennessee this year. I want to do Auburn too, but I'm trying to not go wild with the money spending. Hopefully there will be a playoff trip I can use that money on. Lol

Tenn. is a great experience, with the Vol Navy, the mountains, river etc. But the stadium is not fan friendly, way too crowded & you may end up at the top of the stadium where most visiting fans end up. The seats are too close together & we sat for 4 quarters with our knees up into our chests. But.........for a one time trip, Knoxville bests the Little Village on the Plains.

I would vote Tenner of the two for 2026. JMO.

Both are trips worth taking. Auburn fans are really nice. That’s my takeaway every time I go.
Tennessee has more than a few bad apples that can dampen the experience.

Auburn is before the BYE and likely won't decide the SEC. But can you imagine if we beat Bama and Texas at home before Tennessee weekend? Oh boy.

Auburn is closer. Tennessee is a much prettier campus. Auburn is hundreds of acres of concrete.

We will be in Tennessee. Big group of us going. Gonna stay near pigeon forge area. Cant wait.

Been to both a few times. Probably Tennessee. More to do there and the river is nice. Draw back is the seat size in the stadium.

Auburn, great night environment. But i was at the day game where Cam beat us by himself. Actually he won the NC by himself. Hottest day ever they ran out of water it was brutal!

Been to both places. Tennessee will be better for a couples trip/getaway. Auburn is a more fun college game day environment

This. Auburn is great. Tennessee fans are weird. Don't know how to socially interact.
