As others have said, Auburn is a great road trip and great atmosphere. I've been multiple times, no complaints.

Tenn is still the only stadium outside of BR that I have been taken aback by. And i went in 09 when they sucked vs florida. Knoxville is very unique.

TLDR: Tenn bc your with the wife, but Auburn is my fav road trip. You can't go wrong

Auburns campus is nicer than Tennessee. Tennessee has a fugly campus. No greenspace

Tennessee is my choice. The town, the river and the drive up there is better than AU. Funny story, we went to the game right after 9/11. I think it was two weeks later. The police had extended poles with cameras looking under every car that entered. But they did not look in any trunks.

Much more to do in Knoxville. Auburn is in the middle of nowhere.

For a unique first-time experience, Tennessee would be my pick. We usually take a Thur–Sun trip and stay in Pigeon Forge (less than an hour's drive from Knox). It's a beautiful area with countless things to see and do. The only drawback at Neyland Stadium is their 10-inch-wide seats! And is fun watching their "Lulu & Junior" fans.

Auburn is also a great choice. The fans are friendly, and of course, it's much closer to Baton Rouge.

Tennessee. Is not even a close comparison.
