Gainsville blows. Tailgating sucks and their fans are asswipes.

If they are expected to win, they will talk shite constantly, with little to no hospitality anywhere. shite talking will continue if they win, to the point of fighting. You just have to ignore them and leave. If they lose when expected to win, pretty much the same thing will happen.

If they are expected to lose, then they won't say a peep to you before the game, and if they lose, the amount of asswipes saying stuff decrease dramatically. If they win, then all of a sudden all those quiet fans that had nothing to say before or during the game, turn into asswipes.

Go once and experience, and don't plan on ever going back. Arkansas is the same way.

I'll go to Auburn/Bama/Oxford/Tenn/UGA any day.

My worst experience ever with opposing fans has been with Florida fans and I've traveled to Tuscaloosa for away games a few times. Those jort wearers suck

I've been to Gainesville as well and unfortunately that's pretty accurate I must say.

I think that's Ole Miss. I had no problems in Gainesville with police (or fans) before the game a few years back.

It's AFTER the game you have to worry about. Those jort wearing alligator frickers will do anything to draw a fight after they're good and liqored up win or lose

I hear they treat LSU fans pretty bad when we are there pretty much looking for a reason to arrest Tiger fans. One crazy thing I heard is we can't STEP ON THE GRASS. Just give me some advice

Lived in Gainesville.

Go once have a story checked it off your list. Then never go back.

Most of the responses in here are pretty negative, but I will say that hasn't been my experience. I worked for the University of Florida for 3 years and decked myself out in purple and gold whether we played them in football, basketball, or baseball. Other than the expected ribbing and shouts of "Gator bait!" not much really happened. I've been to most SEC venues with the exceptions of South Carolina and Missouri and I'd actually place Gainesville pretty high up there. Its not Athens, but not many places are.

I've been to Gainesville more than any other road game. Probably 7-8 times.

It is truly a hole of shite. The reason I go is because there is nothing sweeter than walking out of that ugly arse stadium with victory. Very pleasant walk to the car. It doesn't always happen, but it has happened a good bit as an LSU fan.

Tuscaloosa is actually a really fun college town and the Bama fans were really cool when we went down there.

Excited for the Tennessee trip this year

Worst SEC trip I've ever taken. Even the gravel lot that is Starkville was more enjoyable.

none of that is true. I've been to the last 10 LSU games in Gainesville and have never been mistreated.

Just don't act like an arse and you'll be fine.

seriously, stay in your lane out there

I was cornered by a cop on campus and was told to disperse as I was enticing a riot. Me and some buddies were literally standing in the pre college gameday crowd with a sign (which is a staple of the show).

he literally made us leave the gameday area.......escorted us out. We dumped the sign and snuck past him to get back in

eta, sign read "UF can eat our corndogs"

There is no way you went to the game in 2006 and didn't have a single Florida fan mistreat you.
That was a game, while UF was really good, they weren't confident they would beat us, and they did, and they let us have it after the game.

i'll echo what everyone says. gainesville was my worst away game experience. fans were the most rude i've encountered. and gainesville is (or at least was ) a shite hole. if you must go, at least get a big bucket of cane's tenders at guthries

Oh, and forget about sneaking liquor in the stadium. Those mark arse Florida fans will rat you out to the police. I saw 2 different LSU fans get pulled out of the stadium by police because of liquor. Gators dropping dimes everywhere.

Before the game, I enjoyed it. We paid some guy to park at his house near campus, as a lot of homes there offer it. We stayed there, and partied with the housemates and their friends before walking to the game. They were hospitable. It was a good time.

It was Tebow's coming out party during his freshman season. The stadium there was raucous, and they whipped our butts. After the game, on the walk back to the car, I realized why Gainesville has such a bad reputation. It's real. Some of their fans can be punks.

^^^This!!! I got busted 2 years ago. They have spotters on the press box watching LSU fans!!!! There were 50 LSU fans in the holding tank and 1 UF fan. The UF fan was there for smoking weed in the stadium!!!!

Skip it. We had drinks poured out by fans, non-student douche bags run across the street to spit on us and after a bad loss had a 65+ grandma pull down her pants and smack her arse while yelling 'think about this all the way back to Baton Rouge." Won't ever go back.

Did have a decent time at the Swamp bar the night before. Was packed with LSU fans.
