I've got some company execs that want to go to a big game in tiger stadium. Unfortunately, the only date I can make work is Syracuse. What do you think the atmosphere will be like? Anything like an SEC game?

28-6 halftime lead and about 45,000 people still in attendance to start the 3rd Quarter

The atmosphere depends somewhat on the weather. It will be like some SEC games maybe, but not like an Alabama/ other big time opponent that is playing well.

If the weather is perfect (which is normally isn't) meaning not 95+ degrees, or not raining, then you can expect an almost full stadium. You can expect that almost full stadium to lose 25% of it's fans by half time, and 50% of the fans by half time. Not even Alabama keeps everybody in the stands these days.

Depends on the SEC game. Atmosphere probably comparable to Missouri, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky.

If that's the only date that works then you have to do it. Don't disappoint the execs with no game at all...

I would say the atmosphere would likely be somewhat similar to LSU playing Kentucky, Vanderbilt, or maybe Mississippi St. It's not some directional school that half the people in the crowd have never heard of, but it's not football power like a Texas or Ohio St. either. Syracuse isn't irrelevant for athletic purposes and maybe their fan base decides coming down to an SEC venue might be a fun trip. If so, I would think LSU fans would be happy to interact with them with no sense of animosity that comes with rival SEC fanbases. That, in and of itself, might make the game a bit more fun that one might expect

I am betting it will be pretty good. It is an unfamiliar opponent with a decent name brand.

Just make sure to show them a good tailgate...maybe get clubs tickets so you can at least get drinks during the game

Not sure it will make a blip on the radar but a lot of us are coming and really looking forward to it. I actually married into LSU so this series has been fantastic. Hopefully we keep this one respectable like last time. Great trip (from atl) either way.

Wut

So quick math tells me you're maybe saying it loses 25% then 50% of the remaining 75%so at halftime he can expect 37.5% of there fans to remain at halftime?

Got it.

Atmosphere in TS died yrs ago. If it's not Bama game then you should expect 70% of the fans to leave at halftime regardless of score.

It's sad but Tiger Stadium is not even in the Top 20 of toughest places to play anymore

This is a problem across the country, not just an LSU problem.

Yep.

ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN3, ESPNU, The SEC Network, The Big 10 Network, The ACC Network, The Longhorn Network, NBC, ABC, FOX, FS1, FS2...

all thanks to them, I can sit my arse at home, by my bathroom and drink my beer and not smell hot farts and cotton candy. I do not have to park in criminals' yards and I can still have a great time.

Once upon a time, one went to Giamonco's or The pasttime the night before and watched no Friday night college football on television and got major geared up because Keith Jackson and Frank Broyles were in town to do the game of the week...one of maybe 5 games on TV the whole weekend. There used to be something awesome about going to a live game that would exclusively be televised. Later Franklin/Gottfried/Big Adrian would come in and same thing. If you didn't get to go to the game, you got to watch and so did most of the country. Now? I can watch Slippery Rock and Hofstra play on ESPN3.

Will we get those days back? Hard to say. I doubt it.

I could be wrong but I think a factor in it is many people buying tickets don't give a damn about the game on the field but are there as a social event. They go, snap some pics, post on all their social media accounts that they were there then head home halfway through the game or to the next social gathering.

Just look at our schedule. Very weak home games!
