re: Atlanta, Orlando or Dallas ... what bowl do you prefer??

The SEC will get two BCS bids.
1) The winner of the SECCG.
2) The team that did not make it to Atlanta that has the best record. This will probably be the loser of the UF-UGa game.
The loser of the SECCG will go to Capital One. Which leaves LSU in all likelihood to go to the Cotton.
Potential fly in the ointment - The Cotton's deal with the SEC stipulates that once every four years, they can substitute Notre Dame for an SEC team. No joke. So if the Cotton takes ND, then we would not get picked by the Outback and slide once again to Atlanta.

I would prefer Orlando. Against Mich State.
I like this idea, their qb is not great but we would have to stop Ringer. I do not want any part of a big 12 team they would rip up our seconday. I am still hoping we win out and get an at large bid. There is a lot of football left to play so who knows.

The game is at 1 o'clock on Jan 2nd!!!
Now that that's the case, if we can't sneak out a miracle BCS berth, I'd much rather the Cotton than the other 2. Not only because I could attend, but because it's more prestigious(historically), and would offer a much better matchup with a Big 12 team. That Okie State storyline would be great--Lesticles vs. his "I'm a man" protege. I'll pull for that game. Us vs. Missouri or Texas Tech would probably get better ratings, but I don't think we can score with either of them.

won't be a LSU-Ohio state rematch,
Why not? I could see the networks loving a rematch if both teams are 10-2(and we know how much influence they have in the selections). Two big name programs, both travel well, etc.

Capital One bowl was fun last time except for the last play of the game. I would love to go the Outback bowl but probaly not going to happen. Cotton Bowl vs Texas Tech or Oklahoma State would be a good game to see.

Personally I don't mind the Cotton especially with the new DAY AND TIME.
The Cotton Bowl this year is Jan. 2nd at 1 PM. Which means you don't miss the New Year's Day games. Also the Cotton Bowl Stadium has been renovated since '03 and it now seats over 90K.
(plus I will probably be in S'port the holidays, and it would be a lot easier to make it to Dallas).
The matchup would be fun, I would love to get to play a Mizzou or Oklahoma or Texas (if they collapse).

Yeah, after all of this analysis, I'm really hoping for an LSU-Oklahoma State Cotton Bowl on Jan 2nd at 1pm....I'll take the Mad Hatter vs the 40-year-old Man
Obviously, I'm still holding out hope for Sugar or possibly BCS at-large, but realistically the likelihood of that happening isn't too good at this point.
I keep going back on forth ... all have postivies and negatives.
Atlanta (Peach) - been there too many times, but it's a hell of a fun city and would be against an ACC team so a great chance to win
Orlando (Cap1) - great weather, great city, would be a terrible game as far as intrigue against Michigan State or Minnesota ... talk about vomit matchup
Dallas (cotton) - decent city, not great ... would be a great matchup against a quality Big12 team that we probably lose given their superior offenses and our below average defense(at least this year), but a great time at 1pm on Jan 2nd instead of New Year's Day and the stadium has been renovated

I like the cotton with either Nabraska or OK state...at least for intrest. Nabraske for the bo-miles matchup or the OK state for the Miles former team intrtest...but really i would be happy to see any new years day or after bowl game!

Outback and Tampa would be great (and new for us!) except for the fact that historically they hardly ever take a West team in the current SEC bowl ties and setup.

The Cotton Bowl would be fun since I live in the Dallas Area

I say lets go to Shreveport. Close by, and I could probably afford tickets to that one. (Plus, I had a good time the last time we were there.)
Barring the NC or a BCS game, it doesn't make any difference to me how supposedly "prestigious" the lesser bowl may be. None of the "potential matchups" are particularly appealing to me, so frick it.
I know the school gets additional money, but hell, they have plenty of money. May be selfish to say, but if we don't somehow back into a BCS game, I'm voting for the Indy bowl.

Come to Orlando all ye Tiger Fans!!!
If that's the case, then why aren't you calling the Cap One Bowl the 'Citrus Bowl'? That's what it is to me still.

For the fifth time, THE COTTON BOWL IS AT 1PM ON JANUARY 2ND.
Not busting your balls because I thought the same thing until yesterday, but it's now been posted about 5 times throughout this thread.

You have to admit Miles vs Oklahoma State in the Cotton is certainly an intriguing matchup
Miles against Stoops/OU would also be interesting
