I agree that the Cotton Bowl is the probable destination.
But, we need to clarify something. The SEC bowls do not select based on SEC rankings.
The only one that does have some limitations is the Capital One Bowl which does have some based on overall record.
The rest do not.
BCS picks first from eligible
Cap One bowl selects next with some limitations on overall record.
Cotton, Outback and Chickfila select together as a group with Cotton having priorty Western Division team pick and
This means the bowls work it out. If there is a dispute, Cotton Bowl gets it's Western Division selection and Outback gets it's Eastern Division selection. SEC comes in if there is any other dispute between the three.
But, they are not locked into a particular ranking.

I agree that 10:00 am start sucks monkey balls.
That's probably why they changed it!

Dallas = Closest but bad matchup for LSU
Atlanta = Great place for SECCG
Orlando = Warm weather better matchup but farthest
Can we get into the Cotton Bowl & play a big 10 team?

I want us to play texas in the Cotton, If we show up we can beat them.

My prediction: Cotton vs. Oklahoma State

Not the cotton. I don't want such a racist bowl. Just finish watching "The Express" :D

as far as prestige goes i would prefer the capital one vs penn st. i don't think there's a team in the big 11 that can beat us either.
as far as convenience i would prefer the cotton vs ou or texas tech both of which will beat us like a rented mule.
i think we could take any of the acc teams also, but would obviously prefer to be playing on 1/1 or after.

i dont like the cotton unless we got the huskers.
we could lay the wood to those sons of bitches finally. nothing against bo p but we should run the score up on the huskers for the hell of it.
id prefer orlando, tampa, atl and then big d

Should UGA win out, they will likely get Cap 1, UF, when they lose to Bama will get Sugar, BCS Champ if win. I would be intrigued by a UGA Cotton Bowl matchup but we we do open at OKie State next year so we will get the Bog 12 then. Cap one against a Mich St would be new- hasn't happened in a while.

COTTON BY FAR:
1) Will likely get to play the best team to play in a non-BCS bowl - either the 2nd best Big 12 team (if no Big 12 team makes it to the NC) or the 3rd best. Give Les a month to get ready for such a challenge. See what happens to Texas or Oklahoma or Texas Tech. We'll rip them to shreds I guarantee. Les does best when he has weeks to prepare. Lack of an SECCG just means more time to get ready.
2) Its the last Cotton Bowl to be played in Cotton Bowl Stadium. Not only would it be an honor to watch my team end the long tradition at this stadium - it would be an honor to watch them blow-out one of the former SWC teams that have hosted that bowl so many times.
3) Given that its the best shot we have at playing the highest rated non-BCS bowl team - its the best shot we have of finishing in the Top 10.

i posted last night how i thought it would go. bama/uf winner is the nc game. loser is sugar finally. then its uga/LSU/usce/ole miss
cap1/cotton/outback/peach. im guessing cap1 gets 3rd pick so would take uga but i thought i had read somewhere that the bowls could discuss taking in a diff order. id like to see LSU in the outback though just to switch up things and a east team in the cotton
